Missing Stranger Things? The popular series may have said good-bye only a few months ago, but fans already have a chance to revisit the universe. This time, via a brand-new animated spin-off.
Stranger Things: Tales From ’85, which recently dropped on Netflix, gathered 2.8 million views in its first week and became one of the most-watched shows on the platform. It also made the top 10 in 19 countries. Does this mean a second outing is inevitable?

What Could Happen in Stranger Things: Tales From ‘85 Season 2?
Stranger Things: Tales From ‘85 is set in the larger Stranger Things universe, more exactly between seasons 2 and 3. The aim is to expand the world of Hawkins through a stylised animated format. Don’t worry, though – the animated series still carries the eerie undertones of the original.
Viewers can expect episodic adventures and an overarching mystery. The core group returns, but the structure allows side characters and new faces to take centre stage. Think kids from neighbouring schools and people who’ve had brief contact with the Upside Down but were not part of the main narrative.
At the heart of the series is the idea that the Upside Down didn’t just “close” after previous events. Rather, it fractured. Instead of one major gate, unstable tears appear unpredictably, causing all sort of anomalies.
As for Stranger Things: Tales From ‘85 season 2, it will continue in the same vein.
“The Hawkins Investigators Club is back, and a new paranormal threat has emerged from the town’s abandoned silver mines. I can’t wait for fans to discover where this entity and the mysterious blue flower we last saw blooming in the Upside Down at the end of season 1 take our young heroes,” showrunner Eric Robles teases.
Thankfully, fans will only have to wait a few months to find out what the flower is all about.
