Turnover are back. The Virgnia band has today announced a new album, Down on Earth, which will be independently released on May 29. Along with the announcement, they’ve dropped two dreamy songs, ‘Nightjar’ and ‘I See You and Realize’. ‘Nightjar’ also comes with a music video directed by Ben Turok that serves as a portrait of Virginia Beach. Check them out and find the album cover and tracklist below.
The new LP follows 2022’s Myself in The Way. Its cover artwork is a photograph by Nick Waplington that was chosen by the band. “I wanted to use a photo because photos stay with me in a more familiar way. I also buy a lot of photo books and love to see a well known photographer working with musicians,” bassist Danny Dempsey explained. “I’ve been a big fan of Nick’s stuff and something that felt out of reach turned out to be easy and fun. The photo feels like it could be any time in history to me. Today. Tomorrow. 50 years ago. 50 years into the future. And I’m not sure if I want to be there or not. It just pulls me in. It’s a weird one.”
