Mastodon Announce New Album ‘Marrow Deep’, Enlist Josh Homme for New Single

Mastodon have announced a new album, Marrow Deep, which is set to arrive on August 28 via Loma Vista Recordings. Today’s announcement comes with the release of the fiery new single ‘Snakes For Dinner’, which features a guest vocal appearance by Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme, who also appears in the music video. Check it out and find the album cover (by Paul Romano) and tracklist below.

Marrow Deep marks the band’s first album since 2021’s Hushed and Grim. It’s also their first LP since parting ways with co-founding vocalist/guitarist Brent Hinds and his death in 2025. The new lineup features Troy Sanders, Bill Kelliher, and Brann Dailor along with new guitarist Nick Johnston and keyboardist João Nogueira.

“Bill, Brann, and myself are thrilled that we still have the opportunity to do this, and we’ve got other members who are just over the moon to be in the band with us,” Sanders said in a press release. “That’s a magical feeling that makes us keep wanting to go to band practice. It’s reminiscent of the very beginning of our band, where all members are hungry, we’re united, and excited to get to work. And we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to do this record.”

Marrow Deep was co-produced by Mastodon, Patrik Berger (Lana Del Rey, Charli XCX), and Kurt Ballou (High on Fire, Converge). Andrew Scheps (Adele, Black Sabbath, Metallica) handled the mixing. This fall, Mastodon head out on a North American tour with Deafheaven and Alcest to support the record.
