The first-ever official World Cup final halftime show took take place at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Sunday (July 19). Before Spain scored its game-winning goal against Argentina in the second half, pop stars including Madonna, Justin Bieber, Shakira, and BTS performed at the inaugural event, which was curated by Coldplay’s Chris Martin. The Queen of Pop began with ‘2000’ as Brazilian soccer legends Ronaldo and Ronaldinho led her onto the field, before the Muppets delivered a rendition of ‘Seven Nation Army’. The show was full of such bizarre transitions, from BTS’ performance of ‘Dynamite’ to Ted Lasso introducing Justin Bieber with his acoustic guitar. Watch it in full here.
