The Recruit Season 3: Cast, Rumours & Release Date

Noah Centineo’s career hasn’t slowed down since his days in the popular To All the Boys movie trilogy. Now, the dashing actor stars in spy-adventure series The Recruit, about a young CIA operative who has a knack for becoming entangled in international conflicts.

The series debuted to a wildly positive audience response in 2022 and was quickly renewed for a second season, which dropped on Netflix in January 2025. But was this the last time we saw Owen Hendricks? While the show hasn’t been officially renewed yet, our money is on ‘no.’

The Recruit Season 3 Release Date

Season 2 of The Recruit amassed 5.9 million views in only four days, which should bode well for the show’s potential future. Even if the series gets another season, however, there’s a good chance fans will have to wait a while for new episodes.

Given the long break between the first two installments, we expect season 3 to arrive sometime in 2027. Maybe late 2026 at the earliest.

The Recruit Cast

  • Noah Centineo as Owen Hendricks
  • Aarti Mann as Violet Ebner
  • Colton Dunn as Lester Kitchens
  • Fivel Stewart as Hannah Copeland
  • Kristian Bruun as Janus Ferber
  • Kaylah Zander as Amelia Salazar

What Will Happen in The Recruit Season 3?

With no official premiere date or trailer in sight, all that’s left is wild speculation. Even so, the next season of The Recruit will likely take Owen on another wild adventure, maybe on foreign soil once again.

Season 2 took the CIA lawyer to South Korea, where he completed a risky mission he barely survived. On his way home, it looked like his CIA bosses were looking at him as sort of a scapegoat, so we might see him get in trouble once he makes it to the US. Or, we might get to enjoy him teaming up with Jang Kyun, played by Teo Yoo, since the two have a great on-screen rapport.

As for a location, nothing’s set in store – though star Centineo certainly has a wishlist. “Oh, maybe the Maldives. I’ve never been. Everybody likes them. St. Barts, maybe… I’ve never been to either of those places,” the show’s star told TVInsider.

One thing’s for sure: if The Recruit season 3 becomes reality, it will take viewers on another action-packed, wild ride. We can hardly wait.

Is The Recruit Based on True Events?

As surprising as it might sound, kind of! The Recruit is inspired by Adam Ciralsky’s real experiences as a former CIA lawyer. According to People, he was only 25 when he was recruited and stayed with the CIA for three years. Ciralsky is even an executive producer on The Recruit – but he makes it clear that the show’s story is heavily fictionalised.
