Greet Death have announced their next LP: Die in Love is slated for release on June 27 through Deathwish Inc. The follow-up to 2019’s New Hell and 2022’s New Hell EP is led by ‘Country Girl’, a single as gauzy as it is gory, which arrives with a music video by Chromatone Studios. The clip was written and produced by vocalist/guitarist Harper Boyhtari and L Morgan and stars Boyhtari and her bandmate Logan Gaval. According to Boyhtari, ‘Country Girl’ is about “…identity, alienation, and detachment. It’s like trying to solve a murder mystery and finding out you were the killer the whole time.”
The band laid down Die in Love in Harper’s parents’ basement in Davisburg, Michigan, where Boyhtari and Gaval spent much of their preteen and adolescent years. “Pain and loss. Everyone feels it, it’s a very human thing,” Gaval reflected. “At the end of the day, we’re lucky to lose people we care about.”
