Mortal Kombat 1 Definitive Edition: Latest news and updates

The hugely popular fighting game, Mortal Kombat 1, is set for a huge new release on PC and consoles.

The Mortal Kombat 1 Definitive Edition includes all expansions and DLC’s as well as exclusive movie-inspired skins for Johnny Cage, Kiltana, Scorpion, Shao Khan and others fan-favourite characters.

Mortal Kombat 1 is the second reboot of the iconic fighting series, after the first in 2011. It is set after the events of the 2019 Mortal Kombat 11 and has enjoyed critical success for its impressive character roster and graphics. It is the twelfth main installment in the esteemed Mortal Kombat series.

The series has inspired various movie spin-offs including Mortal Kombat in 2019 and the upcoming Mortal Kombat II set for release next year.

What is included in the Mortal Kombat 1 Definitive Edition

Warner Brothers’ Games and NetherRealm Studios have recently announced the Mortal Kombat 1 Definitive Edition, giving fans who haven’t had the chance to get their hands on the game an easy one-stop shop for all of its content.

The Definitive Edition will feature every DLC, update, and bonus content as well as some extra perks without having to but a Season Pass or each of the content packs separately.

The extra content is largely based on the upcoming Mortal Kombat II movie set for an only in theatres release this Autumn. It will include skins from the movie for Johnny Cage, Shao Khan, Kitana and Scorpion, as well as the official movie skin of Sub-Zero from the Mortal Kombat (2021) film and the tournament themed character skin for Liu Kang.

The complete package also features the Khaos Reigns story, Kombat Pack 1 & 2, and fan-favorite Animalities.

Alongside all of the additional content and updates the Mortal Kombat 1 Definitive Edition will bring, players will also be rewarded with 1,250 Dragon Krystals, the in-game currency.

Where to buy and play the Mortal Kombat 1 Definitive Edition

The Definitive Edition is available across all platforms the base game is available on: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC through Steam or the Epic Games Store.

The Definitive Edition currently retails at £54.99, with the base game costing £44.99.

Players on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S who already own the base game can purchase the Definitive Edition Upgrade, which adds in the additional content minus the base game, for £49.99
