Being Dead Sign to Polyvinyl, Share New Songs

Austin’s Being Dead have signed to Polyvinyl Records, marking the announcement with two new songs. ‘Man or Myth’ and ‘Aquarium’ both come paired with music videos directed by the band’s own Falcon Bitch. Watch and listen below.

“We don’t mean to put too much pressure on Polyvinyl, but if we’re not inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame within the next two years, we’re throwing in the towel,” the group said in a press release. “That said, we have full confidence that together, we will take over the world.”

‘Man or Myth’ pays homage to the freestyle canoeing legend Marc Ornstein, who is featured in the song’s music video. ‘Aquarium’, my favorite of the two, “explores the taboo nature of falling in love in the workplace, which is especially scandalous if the workplace is an aquarium and your coworker is a dolphin.”

Being Dead’s sophomore album, EELS, came out in 2024.
