Charlotte Adigéry and Bolis Pupul have announced a new collaborative album to follow up 2022’s Topical Dancer. Mainland Madinina is set for release on February 5. Along with the news, they’ve shared a eight-and-a-half-minute track called ‘From Healer to Dealer’, which follows last month’s ‘Googoo Gaga’. Come for the slinky beat; stick around for Pupul saying “Nama-fucking-stay-out-of-my-business.” The single comes with a Lennert Madou-directed video, which you can check out below.
The new album finds the duo once again teaming up with Soulwax, who served as both mentors and co-producers. “They’re people who can really inspire us when we get stuck – they invite us to go deeper, to really grasp the intention behind the song,” Adigéry said in a statement, with Pupul adding, “They’re still the musical chiropractors – they really know where to push when stuck.”
