Dana Gavanski is a Canadian-Serbian singer-songwriter whose 2020 debut album, Yesterday Is Gone, reflected on her teenage years growing up in Vancouver as well as her move to Montreal, where she picked up the guitar during her final year of university. While spending a summer as her producer father’s assistant on a horror film in the Laurentian Mountains of southern Quebec, Gavanskide decided to focus on writing material for her first EP, Spring Demos. Her sophomore album, 2022’s When It Comes, was deeply informed by the process of healing her vocal cords after she lost her voice during the pandemic.
