Hurray for the Riff Raff is the musical project of Alynda Segarra, a Puerto Rican singer-songwriter from the Bronx, New York. Segarra left their home at age 17 to travel the country, eventually settling in New Orleans, where they started performing with a revolving cast of musicians. They self-released two albums, 2008’s It Don’t Mean I Don’t Love You and 2010’s Young Blood Blues, highlights from which were compiled on 2011’s Hurray for the Riff Raff. The band’s ATO Records debut, Small Town Heroes, came out in 2014, followed by 2017’s The Navigator, 2022’s Life on Earth, and 2024’s The Past Is Still Alive.
