Tindersticks Announce New Album ‘Dog Roses’, Share New Song

Tindersticks have lined up their 15th studio album. The follow-up to 2024’s Soft tissue is called Dog roses, and it’s out March 12. Check out the new single ‘Loving, leaving’, featuring The Invisible’s Dave Okumu, below.

The new album was written and recorded between December 2025 and August 2026, emerging from a period of change for the band that saw them leaving their  studio home of 20 years. They tracked instead in “a hidden underground studio, which Stuart Staples describes as “a place where old methods didn’t seem to work and new solutions had to be found.”

“With our last album, 2024’s Soft tissue, we felt like we were looking over the fence into a new landscape, maybe even leaning over,” Staples reflected. “Making 15 albums we have learned that sometimes there are steps forward, sometimes there are leaps. Soft tissue was a great step, but it was time to try and leap over that fence.”

“Most things I have learned, that I thought I knew about making albums proved to be of little use when making Dog roses,” he added. “I have always had a strong sense of time and place in my writing – but sometimes while making this album it felt like trying to catch only a fragrance or the feeling of the knot in my stomach, or catching a glance of myself in a mirror – the 1000 questions, thoughts, emotions you can feel in one moment.”
