After many hints and posts, it is official that Sylvester Stallone will be directing Creed 2.

To some surprise, the founder of the Rocky franchise Sylvester Stallone will be directing the upcoming film in the franchise named ‘Creed 2’. Previous film ‘Creed’ which was released in 2015 was directed by Ryan Coogler, who also directed such films as Fruitvale Station and the upcoming 2018 film ‘Black Panthers’.

The news came out when Sylvester Stallone posted a picture of him and Michael B Jordan on Instagram with a caption“Looking forward to directing and Producing The incredibly talented Michael B Jordan in CREED 2 next year … One more Round!”.

‘Creed 2’ will look to bring back Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren), a character from Rocky IV who Rocky manages to defeat. Ivan Drago is mostly known for his brutal fight with Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers), which he kills in a brutal bout. With this connection in mind the son, Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan) will likely bring back the memories for Rocky and Ivan in Creed 2 as the franchise will look to refresh the wounds.
