Pearla and Elijah Wolf Share Cover of Joanna Newsom’s ‘On A Good Day’

Pearla and Elijah Wolf have teamed up for a cover of Joanna Newsom’s ‘On A Good Day’. All proceeds from sales of the track, which is available via Bandcamp, will be donated to the racial justice organization Color of Change. Hear the Brooklyn artists’ rendition of ‘On A Good Day’ below.

“When the pandemic began, I found myself listening to the same four records: an attempt to stay hopeful and calm during a time of such mystery and heartache,” Elijah Wolf said in a press release. “One of those records was Joanna Newsom’s Have One on Me. Both nostalgic and hopeful. I began playing ‘On a Good Day’ each morning and eventually decided I wanted to record a version with someone else stuck at home. I had been a fan of Pearla’s for quite some time, and I thought it would be fun to collaborate on a song I know meant a lot to both of us.”

Pearla added: “If there’s anything that can endlessly keep me company, it’s a Joanna Newsom song. To me the song is about holding on to a tiny shred of hope and staying the course even when things feel impossible. I think the song has brought us both a lot of comfort during these times.”

Elijah Wolf is set to release his new album Brighter Lighting on February 26 via Trash Casual Records. Last year, Pearla put out her debut EP, Quilting & Other Activities.
