Marissa Paternoster of Screaming Females has previewed her upcoming album Peace Meter with a new track called ‘Black Hole’. It arrives with an accompanying video directed by Kate Sweeney. Check it out below.
Paternoster, who released a new EP under the moniker Noun earlier this year, said of the new single in a statement: “This song might be one of the truest encapsulations of what Noun would sound like when Andy Gibbs, Marissa Paternoster, Shanna Polley, and Kate Wakefield all contributed equally. Andy added some appropriately driving drums. Shanna sang like a bird over every appropriate measure, and Kate thought to sit this one out! I’d like to believe I’ve always been privy to this, but knowing when to sit one out is the trademark of a true musician. So there’s a good chance Kate is the only one amongst us – I’m sure the other mates would agree! Thank the heavens her prodigious playing is on every other song!”
Peace Meter, Paternoster’s debut solo album, is due out this Friday (December 3) via Don Giovanni Records. ‘Black Hole’ is the third and final single from the LP, following previous cuts ‘I Lost You’ and ‘White Dove’.
