Cat Power Shares Cover of Billie Holiday’s ‘I’ll Be Seeing You’

Cat Power has released two tracks from her upcoming album Covers: a cover of Billie Holiday’s ‘I’ll Be Seeing You’ and a reimagined version of her song ‘Hate’ from 2006’s The Greatest, now titled ‘Unhate’. Take a listen below, and watch the Greg Hunt-directed video for ‘I’ll Be Seeing You’.

“When people who you love have been taken from you, there’s always a song that holds their memory in your mind,” Marshall said of ‘I’ll Be Seeing You’ in a statement. “It’s a conversation with those on the other side, and it’s really important for me to reach out to people that way.”

Covers is due for release on Janary 14 via Domino. It includes Cat Power’s previously released renditions of Dead Man’s Bones’ ‘Pa Pa Power’, Frank Ocean’s ‘Bad Religion’, and The Pogues’ ‘A Pair Of Brown Eyes’.
