Thom Yorke has released a new solo track titled ‘5.17’. On Apple Music, another Yorke single called ‘That’s How Horses Are’ has a release date of April 2. Both songs were written for the British TV show Peaky Blinders. Listen to ‘5.17’ below.
Last month, it was reported that Yorke and Jonny Greenwood contributed new music for the sixth and final season of the TV show. “I’m over the moon about all of that,” director Anthony Byrne told NME. “The music has always been really important historically, and I was really keen to bring a dramatic score into it.”
In addition to issuing his latest solo album, ANIMA, in 2019, the Radiohead frontman also released his debut film score for Luca Guadagnino’s Suspiria remake in 2018. More recently, he’s shared remixes of MF DOOM’s ‘Gazzillion Ear’ and Radiohead’s ‘Creep’. He also performed a solo rendition of a new song by the Smile, his new project with Greenwood and drummer Tom Skinner, at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
