Lucy Liyou Announces New Album ‘Dog Dreams (개꿈)’, Unveils New Song

San Fransisco-based songwriter and composer Lucy Liyou has announced a new LP, Dog Dreams (개꿈). The follow-up to their 2022 debut Welfare / Practice is due for release May 12 through American Dreams. To accompany the announcement, Liyou has shared the first single and title track, which comes with a 3D “interactive dream game” by Rustin Lee. Check it out here and listen to the track below.

“Dog Dreams is about desire,” Liyou explained in a statement. “It is about naively rejecting ‘dog dreams’ (개꿈)—a Korean term used to dismiss and diminish dreams as nonsensical impossibilities —and endlessly searching the mercurial ‘face’ of desire. The music and interactive game attempt to capture this elusive face through a sonic and tactile terrain woven together by a narrative thread based on dreams of my own.”
