Carla J Easton Returns With New Song ‘One Week’

Carla J Easton is back with a new song called ‘One Week’. It’s the first single from her upcoming album SUGAR HONEY, the follow-up to 2020’s Weirdo, which is due out in October via Olive Grove Records. Check it out below.

“’One Week’ was recorded live off the floor at MacArts (Galashiels) and engineered by longtime collaborator Stephen Watkins,” Easton explained in a press release. “It’s produced by my drummer Calum Muir and I co-mixed it with Ronan Breslin at La Chunky Studio (Glasgow). What’s been so exciting about creating my latest work is that it’s the first time me and my live band have produced all the tracks”

She added: “I’m really interested in the way we recall memories and use days of the week as markers for remembering previous events. ‘I must have went for dinner on Tuesday because on Monday night I was out with a friend’ etc. So that idea was the starting point for the story of a relationship unravelling fast.”

Last year, Easton and Simon Liddell’s project Poster Paints released their self-titled debut LP. Revisit our Artist Spotlight Q&A with Carla J Easton.
