EA FC 24: Best Young GK Wonderkids for Career Mode

If your goalkeeper is letting you down, or you want to build your ultimate dream team in the latest edition of FIFA 24, now named EA FC 24, you have come to the right place. On this list, we’ll look at the most promising wonderkids in the game that you can sign on career mode or introduce to your ultimate team.

Diogo Meireles Costa (Overall 83 – Potential 89)

Portuguese goalie Diogo Costa began his career playing for Porto B side in 2017, where he made a total of 51 appearances within the 4-year span, which ended entirely in 2021. However, it took a little while for Costa to start making appearances for the primary Porto team in 2019. Today, Costa has over 86 appearances for the Dragões of the Primeira Liga, who finished 2nd in the 22-23 season. Costa has also made a great impression in international football, rising through the youth ranks in 2014 and reaching the senior national team in 2021. Costa made his international debut on the 9th of October, keeping a clean sheet against Qatar, which ended 3-0.

Regarding the game, Costa has an astounding potential of 89, making him a genuinely world-class goalkeeper who could fit into any Champions League targetting side. Costa’s best attributes are his GK reflexes at 86, GK positioning at 82, and GK diving at 82. Moreover, he holds 83 in reactions. Sadly, if you’re looking to buy him, you’ll have trouble; Costa currently has a release clause of €102.3 million, which certainly makes him accessible by the big boys in the top 5 leagues of Europe.

Guillaume Restes (Overall 72 – 87 Potential)

18-year-old Restes of Toulouse in Ligue 1 is no joke. While only being born in 2005 would make him a super young keeper, he already made 17 appearances for the French side, which didn’t do well, placing 13th of 20 in Ligue 1 in the 2022-23 season. Restes isn’t sleeping on international football, either. While competition to represent is tough, Restes has been playing for the France U21 side, where he made five appearances. Luckily for Restes, France isn’t his only option for international football. He may opt to play for the Ivory Coast national team due to his mother’s Ivorian descent, potentially making him a viable option for the Les Éléphants of the CAF.

Game-wise, Restes has a promising future but would need some loan time to play at the highest level as a starting goalkeeper. Luckily, at Toulouse, he is the best goalkeeper with not much competition, so if kept at the club with playing time, his potential is very much possible to reach. Restes has a reasonable release clause of €12.3 million for those looking for a cheap player. His best attributes are in goalkeeping, as expected, with GK diving at 73 and GK reflexes at 76.

Marco Carnesecchi (Overall 79 – Potential 87)

With Donnaruma dominating the goalkeeper’s position for the Italian national team, it doesn’t look hopeful for anyone else to take his spot except for Carnesecchi, who currently plays his club football for the mighty Atalanta side in Seria A. Carnesecchi spent most of his early career on line playing for Trapani and Cremonese, establishing himself as a solid goalie with heaps of potential at a young age of 23. At 6 ft 5 in, Carnesecchi isn’t any push-around and has made over 22 appearances for the Italy U21 side from 2019 to 2023.

In EA FC 24, Carnesecchi certainly spells out as a potentially world-dominating goalie with a massive potential of 87. His best attribute is GK reflexes, which stand at 84, closely followed by GK diving at 80. Sadly, Carnesecchi doesn’t have a game face and a release clause of €63.7 million, making him a steep acquisition for smaller clubs that play in the lower end of the Premier League or Seria A.

Giorgi Mamardashvili (Overall 80 – Potential 86)

Georgian star Giorgi Mamardashvili has delivered results since his debut for Dinamo Tbilisi in 2018. The wonderkid, however, found little luck at the club, being loaned out to Rustavi in 2019 and then Locomotive Tbilisi, where he impressed the Spanish scouts after a match against La Liga’s Granada in the UEFA Europa League. This performance highlighted his move to Valencia in 2021, where he has currently made over 74 appearances and has kept many clean sheets for the La Liga side, which struggled in the 2022-23 season.

As a video game player, the Georgian goalie delivers a well-rounded set of goalkeeping attributes. Most impressively, Mamardashvili has on GK reflexes at 82, narrowly followed by GK positioning and GK diving, which both come at 80. As a potential goalie for your dream team, he does have an in-game real face and playstyles such as far throw and cross claimer — making him suitable for more exciting players of the EA FC franchise. Mamardashvili has a release clause of €63.3 million, making him ideal for mid-table and above teams in the Premier League like Manchester United, Brighton, and potentially Chelsea.

Dennis Seimen

Finishing this list strongly, we have the 17-year-old youngster Dennis Seimen, who currently plays football for Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart. Seimen began his career in 2023 after a solid spell playing for the youth side of Stuttgart from 2015 to 2023. He has yet to make a senior debut for the main Stuttgart side. Still, he has made eight appearances for VfB Stuttgart II, who currently play in the Regionalliga Südwest, the fourth division in German football.

The scouts love Seimen’s potential; while he has yet to make an appearance in the Bundesliga, he has already managed to raise his profile enough to have the potential of an 84-rated goalkeeper within the game. Starting at an overall of 61, he certainly needs playing time at a lower division, most likely a loan if you are hoping he becomes your number-one goalkeeper. That is, of course, if you’re playing a top-tier side. On the other hand, if you’re managing a 3. Liga side or a League One side in England, then you may have a decent shot of making him a decent starting 11 goalkeeper. In terms of attributes, Seimen delivers 63 in GK diving, 61 in GK kicking, and 62 in GK reflexes. His most robust line of attributes lies in Strength, which currently stands at 68. Seimen also has a small and certainly affordable release clause of €2.6 million — making him a steal for any side looking to invest in the future of their squad.
