Soundwalk Collective with Patti Smith have announced Correspondences Vol 1, a 2-track EP that will arrive on May 3 via Bella Union. The first song, ‘Pasolini’, is out today. Listen to it below.
For Correspondences, Soundwalk Collective’s founder, Stephan Crasneanscki, “explored, captured and collected the world’s remotest places in sound to awaken a sonic memory within the landscape, uncovering traces of past and current histories of the world we are living in,” according to a press release. He then brought these recordings to Smith, focusing on eight pieces that “revert the relationship of sound to image.”
Soundwalk Collective’s last collaboration with Patti Smith, Peradam, came out in 2020.
