An Indian reality series is slowly but surely generating buzz. Lock Upp, available to stream on Netflix, is part celebrity competition and part psychological game show. That combination seems to be particularly addictive.
With 1.9 million views last week, Lock Upp is currently among the most-watched non-English series on Netflix. It’s also the #1 show in four countries. Could this mean another installment is just around the corner? Here’s what we know so far.
Lock Upp Season 3 Release Date
The first season of the competition premiered back in 2022 on Indian video platforms. What’s currently airing on Netflix is the second season, titled Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa. At the time of writing, there’s no news about a potential Lock Upp season 3.
That said, the show is still ongoing, and viewership numbers are solid. As long as people keep tuning in, a new installment could come in 2027.

What Is Lock Upp About?
In Lock Upp, a group of controversial public figures, referred to as “inmates,” are locked inside a specially designed jail-like environment. There, they must compete for survival, privileges, and ultimately freedom. The show is hosted by Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh.
The celebrity contestants have often been associated with scandals or media backlash. Once inside the “jail,” they are stripped of everyday comforts. Basic necessities are not guaranteed and must be earned through various tasks.
The show places a heavy emphasis on personal revelations. Inmates are frequently pressured to share secrets they have never publicly discussed. These confessions become an important part of the gameplay.
“Every contestant enters with their truth and a strategy, but inside Lock Upp: Sach ya Sazaa, everything gets tested. Farah and I will have a front-row seat to every twist, conflict, and revelation. One thing is certain: nobody walks out the same,” Riteish Deshmukh said.
Each week, contestants face nominations and eviction rounds. While Lock Upp season 3 isn’t a sure thing just yet, the second season is still rolling out on Netflix. You can catch new episodes every Saturday through Wednesday, with the finale scheduled for August 5.
