Hooked on Netflix’s new thriller The Perfect Lie? You’re not alone. The Dutch production currently tops the streamer’s charts for non-English series. With 4.1 million views this week, it’s also the #1 show in four countries.
It’s easy to figure out why. The plot features a group of wealthy families involved in a mystery, with dark secrets slowly coming to light as episodes progress. In other words, the show is quite addictive! But will it come back with season 2? Here’s what we know so far.
The Perfect Lie Season 2 Release Date
At the time of writing, Netflix hasn’t renewed the thriller for additional episodes. At least not yet.
Viewership numbers are strong, and the title isn’t listed as a limited series. While viewers get answers about the central mystery by the time the end credits roll, a loose plot thread suggests there’s more to come.
If all goes well, The Perfect Lie season 2 could arrive in late 2027.

What Is The Perfect Lie About?
Inspired by Saskia Noort’s bestselling novel The Dinner Club, The Perfect Lie revolves around Karen, who moves with her family to Bergen. Once there, she is welcomed into an exclusive social circle made up of wealthy couples who regularly meet for lavish dinner parties.
At first, the group appears to have everything. That includes beautiful homes, successful careers, and close friendships. The glamorous façade begins to fade after one the couples, Babette and Evert, suffer a devastating house fire. Evert dies, while Babette and their children barely escape. Before long, questions arise about whether the fire was an accident or something more sinister.
Karen decides to look into the matter, only to discover that virtually everyone in the dinner club had a motive to conceal something. Turns out, finding out the truth might put her at risk and impact her new relationships.
The first season finale doesn’t leave viewers hanging as far as the fire is concerned. Even so, a big question about a secondary mystery remains unanswered. The Perfect Lie season 2 could pick up from there and delve deeper into the lives of these affluent friends.
