What Is Four Hands, Two Sonatas About?
Four Hands, Two Sonatas revolves around two pianists. They meet at a prestigious high school and develop an intense relationship built around music.
On one hand, there’s Pi-o, a technically brilliant piano prodigy. He has been trained to pursue perfection from childhood, but the pressure from his family has left him disconnected from the music he once loved. On the other, there’s Jeong-yo, a late-blooming pianist from a troubled background. His playing is rougher than Pi-o’s, but more emotional.
The boys see each other as rivals. However, circumstances force them to work together, and Pi-o discovers that Jeong-yo can bring out something in him that years of training never could. Their friendship grows alongside their musical abilities while family problems and jealousy threaten to pull them apart. Without revealing too much, a mystery also runs through later episodes.
Four Hands, Two Sonatas season 2 may be unlikely to happen, but the first season is expected to wrap up the story in a satisfying manner. Four more episodes will drop on Netflix over the next couple of weeks, with the final one arriving on October 4.
