A new competition series is trending on Netflix, and the premise sounds too sweet to pass up. In Wonka’s The Golden Ticket, contestants are invited to step inside Wonka’s chocolate factory to face all sorts of magical challenges. Only one winner reigns supreme.
With 4.6 million views this week, the show is among the most-watched on Netflix, as well as a Top 10 entry in 63 countries. Could this mean that another installment is on the way? Here’s what we know so far.

At the time of writing, there’s no official news about a potential Wonka’s The Golden Ticket season 2.
That said, the show is a ratings hit for Netflix, and a lot of work went into the set design alone. A renewal announcement is likely just around the corner.
If all goes well, a new installment of the competition series could arrive in late 2027.

While the show doesn’t have a traditional host, Gene Wilder’s performance from the classic film served as inspiration to recreate Willy Wonka’s voice using AI. Guest hosts are featured for various challenges, and the Oompa-Loompas are led by Rusty Goffe, who appeared in the film.
What Is Wonka’s The Golden Ticket About?
Wonka’s The Golden Ticket transports contestants into a real-life version of Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory.
Inspired by Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and its film adaptations, the series begins with 12 lucky people who discover a Golden Ticket hidden inside a chocolate bar. Each ticket holder can bring a partner into the factory.
Once they step inside, the teams must work their way through a series of elaborate games. The challenges test them and force them to make difficult decisions while dealing with an unpredictable environment. Some games draw directly from elements of the Wonka universe, which makes the show a treat for contestants and viewers alike.
Only one contestant gets to win the grand prize, “a lifetime supply of money.” Needless to say, the stakes are high.
While Wonka’s The Golden Ticket season 2 isn’t a sure thing just yet, the first installment is an excellent escape from reality. All episodes are now available.
