A historical drama with Succession vibes? Yes, please! New Netflix show House of Guinness has style to spare and plenty of intrigue for fans of family squabbles. Before you know it, you fly through the eight episodes available and wonder what comes next.

Despite only being out for a little over a week, the show climbed to the third position in the Netflix charts, with 5.2 million views. Does that mean we can expect a second outing? Here’s what we know so far.

House of Guinness Season 2 Release Date

At the time of writing, Netflix hasn’t officially renewed House of Guinness for more episodes. That said, an announcement could be right around the corner, with the show’s creator seemingly optimistic about what’s to come. Asked about a sequel, Steven Knight hinted there’s more story to tell.

“In a perfect world, I’d like to take it on all the way into the 20th century. These things are not being announced, this is not decided. But if you look at even a cursory glance at the history of the Guinness family, they keep throwing up these dramas,” he told ScreenRant.

As long as the streaming service gives the green light, House of Guinness season 2 could arrive sometime in late 2026.

What Could Happen in House of Guinness Season 2?

House of Guinness is set in 1868 Dublin and New York. It kicks off when Sir Benjamin Lee Guinness passes away. That name might sound familiar, as he’s the patriarch who transformed the Guinness brewery into a powerhouse.

His death sets off a succession struggle among his four adult children, Arthur, Edward, Anne, and Ben, each with different ambitions and personalities.

Beyond the internal family conflict, the series explores the larger social and political turmoil of the time. Think religious tensions, nationalist sentiment among the Irish (including the Fenian movement), and class struggles. Add the pressure of maintaining a brewing empire into the mix, and the story can get quite addictive.

The first season ends with a cliffhanger that leaves the fate of Arthur and other characters unclear. Given that things were just heating up, it’s no wonder fans are clamoring to return to the series in the future. House of Guinness season 2 has plenty of unfinished business to tackle, from who will survive to see another day to how the business will fare.

Fingers crossed that we’ll get to see the family saga unfold for years to come.
