Destiny 2 Launches New Update to Boost Player Numbers

Destiny 2 has just gotten another update from developer Bungie. In particular, this new patch makes adjustments to the core systems and fixes bugs. It also tweaks activities for a a more engaging gaming experience. At the same time, version 9.1.5.2 comes alongside the new Halloween-inspired event in the game.

Bungie’s Commitment to Improve Destiny 2

Game Rant said that Destiny 2 has recently faced a slump. Specifically, its player count has been dropping. In the same way, players are sharing their concerns with the popular title through feedback. While there are struggles, Bungie is still dedicated to improving the game for fans. That is why the latest update was released.

Gameplay Adjustments

According to the official patch notes, one of the main changes the update brings is the removal of Unstable Cores. They are no longer the currency used for Infusion. It is due to the fact that many found the system rather confusing. So, Bungie replaced it with a flat cost of one Enhancement Core and 5,000 Glimmer. This move simplifies the infusion process in all power levels. Plus, pulling apart gear now stops granting Unstable Cores.

Similarly, the developers fixed issues in other areas of the game. In detail, the changes focus on armor, weapons, and abilities.

Activity Tweaks and General Changes

The Destiny 2 team also took out some challenge modifiers. Now, matchmaking does not have the following:

  • Antisurge
  • Ashes to Ashes
  • Cosmic Super Conductors
  • Elemental Hungers
  • Energy Drain
  • Haste
  • Lightning Crystals
  • Match Game
  • Slow and Small
  • Volatile Shields

At the same time, the new patch fixes issues in Pinnacle Operations, Dungeon Lairs, and the Heliostat mission. In the same way, there are enhancements in the Desert Perpetual.

On top of these, Destiny 2 grants refunds of 300 to 600 Bright Dust to certain players. This will be available to those who overpaid for Bright Dust armor ornaments. But only the players who bought during the first week of Ash and Iron can claim a refund. The update also has a few visual changes to improve the overall game presentation.

Seasonal Events

Along with the new patch, Bungie launched its yearly Festival of the Lost. For the unfamiliar, it is a Halloween-inspired event in the title. This one adds updates to the latest edition of the game.

Availability and Looking Ahead

Version 9.1.5.2 Destiny 2 is now live for all players. Meanwhile, Bungie continues to listen to community feedback. So, fans can expect more updates soon. Even with the rough stretch, the first-person shooter title is likely to win back players through balancing and improvements.
