Australian psych rockers King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard are back with a new song called ‘Honey’, accompanied by a music video directed, edited, and photographed by John Angus Stewart. Recorded and mixed by frontman Stu Mackenzie and mastered by Grammy-nominated engineer Joe Carra, the new track marks the first new material from the band in 2020. Check it out below.
“Shot at sunset during the apocalypse with a reeeeeeal long lens. I wrote this song a couple of years ago,” Mackenzie wrote on Twitter. “It’s nice to have it out in the world.”
King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard’s last album was 2019’s metal-inspired Infest the Rats’ Nest, the second of two releases that year. Earlier this year, the band released three benefit live albums for Australian bushfire relief. Last month, they put out the documentary film RATTY, documenting the making of Infest The Rats’ Nest.
