David Lynch and Chrystabell Announce New Album ‘Cellophane Memories’, Share Video for New Single

Last week, David Lynch revealed he has a new project for fans “to see and hear.” It turns out that project is not a film, but a new collaborative LP with Chrystabell, which is titled Cellophane Memories and comes out August 2 via Sacred Bones Records. Today’s announcement comes with the release of the new single ‘Sublime Eternal Love’ and its Lynch-directed video. Watch and listen below.

“The origin of Chrystabell and David Lynch’s album Cellophane Memories comes from a vision that David experienced during a nighttime walk through a forest of tall trees, over the tops of which he saw a bright light,” according to a press release. “As he recalls it, the light became the lilt of Chrystabell’s voice and revealed a secret to him. It is from these mysterious convergences of light and sound, day and night, starry sky and black forest that Chrystabell and David’s collaboration has continued to blossom.”

In her words, Chrystabell said the album contains “many doors that are left open to wonder, wander and get turned around in.” She added, “It’s like mood music, not that it creates mood, but more that it reflects your own.”

Cellophane Memories is Lynch’s first album since 2018’s Thought Gang, a collaboration with the late composer Angelo Badalmenti. Lynch and Chrystabell first worked together on the soundtrack for 2006’s Inland Empire, and Lynch worked on Chrystabell’s 2011 debut LP This Train as well as her 2016 effort Somewhere in the Nowhere. Chrystabell also played an FBI agent in 2017’s Twin Peaks: The Return.

Angel Olsen Joins Maxim Ludwig on New Single ‘Mercury Avenue’

The Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Maxim Ludwig has collaborated with Angel Olsen for the new single ‘Mercury Avenue’. Along with Ludwig’s band The Mystics – Matt Bernstein on bass and guitar and Jorge Balbi on drums – the track features Olsen on harmonies and synthesizer, Jonathan Wilson on synthesizer, and Sean O’Brien on organ and guitar. Olsen also co-directed the accompanying video with Angela Ricciardi. Check it out below.

“It’s about not going toward darkness, being brought back to life and living through love,” Ludwig said in a statement about the song, adding of the video: “The archetype of ‘The Man Out of Place’ in films has always been something I’ve gravitated towards: Jack Nicholson on foot through the Sahara in ‘The Passenger,’ Elliott Gould walking on the beach in ‘The Long Goodbye,’ Albert Finney wearing a tuxedo on the Day of the Dead in ‘Under the Volcano,’ Harry Dean Stanton in ‘Paris, Texas.’ These images are like romantic period paintings of modernity; the characters are simultaneously bewildered and accepting of their predicament.”

Ludwig is set to embark on a tour with Olsen this September, playing shows in California, New York, and New Jersey. The pair recently covered Lou Reed’s ‘I Can’t Stand It’ for The Power of the Heart: A Tribute to Lou Reed.

SUUNS Announce New Album ‘The Breaks’, Share New Single

Montreal band SUUNS have announced a new album titled The Breaks. The follow-up to 2021’s The Witness is set to drop on September 6 via Joyful Noise. Check out director Alexander Ortiz’s video for the title track below.

Commenting on the clip, Ortiz said: “The idea for the video is basically to match the slow moody feel of the song. It conjures movement with no destination in mind and analogue blends of images that you can almost touch. From bike rides and night drives to the passion of cha-cha dancing with a bouquet of flowers.”

The Breaks became sort of the opposite of our last record,” multi-instrumentalist Joseph Yarmush explained. “Nothing was really played together. We were caught in a little bit of a wormhole, trying new things, throwing different things against the wall.”

Liam O’Neill added: “We were making this album at a time I just didn’t really have a lot going on in my life other than music. Sometimes we arrived at these moments of impasse and where we didn’t know what to do. And I just found myself really getting into it. Let’s try this and this! And just try everything. I had a lot of energy, and I felt really passionate about it.”

Goat Girl Unveil New Single ‘words fell out’

Ahead of the release of their new album Below the Waste this Friday, Goal Girl have offered up one more single, ‘words fell out’. Following previous cuts ‘motorway’ and ‘ride around’, the track comes with a video directed by singer/guitarist Lottie Pendlebury’s sister, Molly Ann Pendlebury, and choreographed by her mother, Lauren Potter. Check it out below.

Lottie Pendlebury wrote the lyrics of ‘words fell around’ while watching drummer Rosy Jones struggle with addiction. “The song is about the helplessness felt amongst our friends as we attempted to nurture Rosy, a time that felt really hard to find words for,” Pendlebury explained. “I wrote it to sort through the emotions that are pushed aside in the midst of dealing with a crisis. The opening line ‘I only want the best for you’ is the central theme, not only of the song but also our friendship.”

The Benefits Of Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is a popular cosmetic treatment that helps to remove or reduce unwanted body hair. Many people use laser hair removal as an alternative to more traditional methods such as waxing and shaving. In this article, The Laser Treatment Clinic explains everything you need to know about laser hair removal. From how to work to the various benefits, stick around if you’re considering laser treatment as an option for hair removal.

How does laser hair removal work?

Laser hair removal works by using lasers to destroy hair follicles whilst leaving the surrounding skin structures intact. Destroying the hair follicles disrupts the growth of hair, effectively removing it. Laser or IPL (intense pulsed light) penetrates the skin where the hair is and heats the area up which results in damage to the hair follicle. This treatment is much more long-lasting than shaving or waxing, but can result in some side effects too. The more common side effects include: red skin, pain, and discomfort.

However, there are many benefits to laser hair removal treatment. See below:

Permanent hair reduction

One of the main advantages to laser hair removal is the long-lasting reduction in hair growth. Whilst your hair will regrow, it can significantly reduce the thickness and density of the hair in the target areas, making managing your body hair much easier. Many people who opt for laser hair removal see effective and long-lasting results, which can make this procedure worth it.

Speed

Laser treatment for hair removal is a quick procedure, so it won’t take up much of your time. Shaving and waxing have to be done much more frequently and can take a bit longer to remove all the hair, whereas one session of laser treatment is longer lasting and more effective.

Reduce the amount of ingrown hairs

Anyone who shaves will know the pain of ingrown hairs. But did you know that with laser hair removal, you’re much more unlikely to get them? By destroying the hair follicle, not only are you less likely to regrow hair, but hair is less likely to become trapped under the surface of the skin, creating an ingrown hair.

Save time & money

Shaving and waxing can take up a considerable amount of time, since it has to be done more often. With laser hair removal, you not only save time but you can save money in the long run as regular waxing sessions can be expensive as well as always purchasing razors. These ongoing costs add up over time meaning laser hair removal may be the method that saves you money and time, depending on how much you already wax/shave.

Better skin texture

When it comes to laser hair removal,  many people find that their skin becomes smoother and less prone to irritation after than it would with other hair removal methods. This is because with shaving or waxing, you have to do this almost constantly, which can really irritate the skin, but laser treatment is less often and more precise.
