The most iconic Roulette wins

Roulette is one of the most loved online casino games out there. There are many trustworthy sites where you can play online roulette games for real money. With forms of the game cropping up all throughout the pages of history books, it’s no wonder the thrill of the simplistic game still grips the attention of millions. Despite the spin of the wheel offering results that are mostly down to luck, there have been some truly incredible wins.

Read on to discover just some of the most iconic wins in Roulette history, and most importantly, how they were achieved, so that the next time you enjoy playing Roulette online or at a brick-and-mortar establishment, you can attempt to recreate some of the luckiest spins of all time through online roulette canada.

Charles Wells

In 1891, each Roulette table at a casino had a cash reserve of 100,000 francs, which was often referred to as ‘the bank’. Charles Wells is often known as “the man who broke the bank at Monte Carlo”, as up until he visited, the bank at Monte Carlo had only been broken by five different people on five different occasions. Wells managed to ‘break the bank’ several times during the course of his stay, banking a total of two million Francs. He claims his wins are down to the use of the Martingale system, a betting technique that encourages players to double their bet after a loss, and keep it the same after a win. Whilst this system has proved unsuccessful in the long run, the technique clearly helped the Roulette tables to turn in Wells’ favour.

Chris Boyd

Englishman Chris Boyd managed to win an iconic $440,000 in one night on the Roulette tables in Las Vegas in 1994. In 1991, Boyd came up with the idea to save up as much money as he could to place it on a single Roulette spin. He managed to save $220,000 by working hard in his computer programming job over three years. Not many casinos were willing to take his bet, but eventually Binion’s Horseshoe Casino agreed to lift their $100k maximum bet and accepted his wager. They also allowed him to play on a European wheel, taking off the 00 pocket and lowering the house edge. After choosing red on a red/black bet, the wheel stopped spinning on a lucky red number seven, and changed his life forever!

Sir Phillip Green

Phillip Green is a British billionaire, and formerly was one of the richest people in the UK. When it comes to the casino, he is most famous for playing Blackjack, despite bagging most of his winnings from the Roulette wheel. In 2004, he waltzed into his favourite high stakes London casino – Les Ambassadeurs – and managed to win £2 million in one night. Not only did he break the bank at one of London’s most lavish casinos, but he put the casino’s shareholders at risk with his massive winnings.  However, Green is not such a favourite amongst fellow Brits, which just goes to show that money really can’t buy you happiness.

Ashley Revell

Ashley Revell changed his life on live television, as viewers watched with bated breath in one of the most famous all-or-nothing bets of all time. Revell decided to sell everything he owned, and take all his life savings straight to Las Vegas. With nothing but the clothes on his back, the shoes on his feet and $135,000 in his pocket, he placed his bet on red. Much like Chris Boyd, the lucky red number seven was the life-changing pocket that the Roulette ball landed in when the wheel finally stopped spinning. Not only did he double his savings, earning himself a whopping $270,000, but he rightfully earned his place as one of the most iconic Roulette wins of all time. You can watch this incredible feat here. Revell then went on to invest his money in his career, setting up an online Poker site and creating another site for iGaming, helping others seek jobs within the industry.

Pedro Grendene Bartelle

The most recent iconic Roulette win goes to Pedro Grendene Bartelle, who won $3.5 million in 2017 in Rio de Janeiro. He did this by placing most of his wager on red 32, and placing smaller bets on eight of the surrounding numbers, so that he was covered from all angles and combinations of this number. Some say the bet he placed was worth $35,000, but this is disputed. Nevertheless, when the wheel spun, all of his bets hit, and he won that massive payout. You can watch the iconic moment here. Now, his family live an extremely wealthy lifestyle, as he was already a successful businessman, alongside his brother, uncle, and dad, all owning large footwear and coffee companies. The net worth of his uncle alone is $2.1 billion, so, despite being considered one of the luckiest men in 2017 – the family, quite frankly, have bumper bankrolls anyway!

Snacks, Bethany Cosentino’s Cat and the Cover Star of Best Coast’s Debut Album, Has Died

Bethany Cosentino, one half of the indie rock duo Best Coast, has announced the passing of her beloved cat, Snacks. “Said goodbye to my best friend in the entire world today,” Cosentino tweeted. “My true love. My guardian angel. There will never be another one like him.”

Cosentino adopted Snacks, an orange Maine Coon, around the release of Best Coast’s 2010 debut album, Crazy for You. Snacks was featured on the cover of the LP, and can also be seen donning the artwork for Wavves’ King of the Beach, and most recently, Best Coast’s single with The Linda Lindas, ‘Leading’. “There are literally thousands of you fans with this cat tattooed on their bodies and they will carry his spirit with them. Legends never die,” Wavves’ Nathan Williams wrote on Twitter. Best Coast incorporated Snacks into their music on multiple occasions, including on their song ‘Goodbye’, which included the lyric, “I wish my cat could talk.”

In 2014, Snacks was also the star of a PETA2 campaign. “I’ve met a lot of fans that have said to me, ‘I actually adopted a cat or a dog [because of Snacks.]’ People have even told me they’ve named their cats after Snacks,” Cosentino said in the video. “It’s really cool to feel like this thing that you love so much and are nerdy about loving sometimes is affecting people in a way that’s making them go out and save an animal or making them be more involved with the animal they already have. He really is my son at this point. That’s the thing that is so important about having pets – they really become a part of your family.”

Cosentino also paid tribute to Snacks on Instagram, sharing multiple photos and videos. “I always knew this day would come, but I hoped it never would,” she wrote. “I said goodbye to my angel baby Snacks this afternoon. He was not just my cat. He belonged to all of you. He was the third member of this band. Our mascot. Our cover star. Our merch king. He meant everything to me and I’m going to miss him so much, but I know he will live on forever by way of the legacy he created simply by being himself. He loved you all so much and he knew you loved him. 14 wonderful years. I’m so honored that I got to be his mom. I love you forever Snacks. Long live the king.”

0

Lucius have previewed their upcoming album Second Nature with a new single called ‘White Lies’. Check it out below.

“‘White Lies’ was the first song we wrote after I got divorced,” the duo’s Jess Wolfe explained in a statement. “It’s the laying in bed at night, cycling through the last 10 years of your life, wondering what was, what could be and why it wasn’t. It’s the moment right after you rip the band-aid off and are frantically pedaling backwards, trying to hold on to what’s left, if anything at all. ‘I just want to lie with you,’ the double meaning and double-edged sword; if only one last moment together could save you from a broken heart.”

Second Nature, which was produced by Dave Cobb and Brandi Carlile, arrives on April 8. Lucius previously shared the single ‘Next To Normal’.

Folly Group put out their debut EP, Awake and Hungry, last year. “Where Awake and Hungry doubled as a diary of the band’s formative months and encapsulation of our live show, Human and Kind is a projection of our ambition, and our desire to push ourselves through what we might previously have perceived as the ceiling of possibility for four players,” the London-based band said in a press statement. “The release is at once introspective and extroverted: it attempts to be a dynamic interrogation of grief and growth.”

Of the new track, they added: “I Raise You (The Price of Your Head)’ is a pandemic-era role-reversal between politician and young person that poses the question: you were happy to gamble with my life, what if I were to gamble with yours?”

It’s taken from the London-based singer’s upcoming Cali EP, which is out March 11 via Dirty Hit and includes the previously unveiled singles ‘Mercy’ and ‘Cali’. The lyrics will relate to anybody that gives a lot for what they are passionate about.” She added, “The video is like the song, simple and intimate. It’s a collection of camcorder footage, fleeting images of one of those days where the world lies heavy on your shoulders. A big chunk of this I filmed with friends, and we actually had a really great day. It all evens out.”

Can Dele Alli revive his career at Everton?

The curious case of Dele Alli took another twist on transfer deadline day last month. Out of favour at Tottenham Hotspur for some time now, new Everton boss Frank Lampard moved quickly to bring the 25-year-old to Goodison Park before the window slammed shut on January 31st — the same day the former Chelsea boss was officially named as Rafael Benítez’s successor in the blue half of Merseyside.

It certainly wasn’t your standard deal though. Alli has initially signed for the club on a free transfer, with Spurs due £10 million when the England international reaches the 20-game mark for Everton, while future add-ons could eventually see the overall price rise to a huge £40m. Given that the north London side are relying on Alli to actually perform well to receive any of those potential fees, jokes are already being made on social media that they won’t see a penny.

But this is a fresh start for Alli, or at least it’s meant to be, so is there a possibility that he could revive his career at Goodison Park under the guidance of Lampard? Well, rather worryingly for the passionate Toffees fanbase, the arrival of Alli, Lampard and Donny van de Beek, who joined Everton on loan from Manchester United on deadline day, hasn’t done much to actually improve their chances of avoiding the drop in the Premier League betting odds. That 3-1 defeat to Newcastle United brought them back down to earth after the highs of beating Brentford 4-1 in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Everyone involved with the club will be hoping that the noise from the outside since Alli’s move doesn’t distract him from the task at hand. He has already been heavily criticised for arriving to complete his move in a flashy Rolls Royce, while he was even ripped into for what he was wearing when unveiled to the crowd alongside van de Beek during half-time of Everton’s FA Cup clash with Thomas Frank’s Bees.

Constant criticism and negative comments are bound to have an adverse effect on the player — he is only human after all. However, Lampard was quick to jump to Alli’s defence following the comments from the likes of Ally McCoist, Alan Brazil and Glenn Hoddle.

“I have a lot of respect and admiration for people like Ally, Alan and Glenn and I’m not hitting back at their observations because everyone is allowed their opinion,” Chelsea’s all-time top scorer said. “But personally, I don’t care what car he drives or what clothes he wears as long as he comes to training every day, wants to improve every day, respects the club and his team-mates and gives everything.”

Alli made his first Everton appearance in that aforementioned 3-1 league defeat to Eddie Howe’s side, replacing the injured Demarai Gray in the 25th minute, and it’s fair to say that it’s not exactly the debut he would have pictured. The 25-year-old failed to make any real impact on the game and the Toffees’ fan base were left furious with the display.

But it’s worth noting that this is a side struggling with form and confidence, the arrival of Lampard was never going to make them instant favourites in the Premier League football tips. Alli, and van de Beek for that matter, has hardly played any football for the best part of two seasons, so it will take a while to rebuild that sharpness and belief — hence why the gaffer didn’t throw him straight into the starting XI against Newcastle.

We all know that there is a decent player in there somewhere, it’s about Alli changing his attitude and getting his head down on a training pitch. José Mourinho’s treatment of the midfielder during his time at Spurs was well documented and deemed harsh at the time, but it turned out the 59-year-old had a point. He failed to talk some sense into him in a clip that hit hard in All or Nothing, but hopefully Lampard can and Alli is really willing to change this time.

What To Wear for A Chilled Date Night At Home

Staying in is the new going out. While getting dressed up and heading out for a date night can be a lot of fun, staying at home is sometimes just what you need and can still offer an intimate and romantic scene to reconnect with your partner after a long week.

So, what exactly would you wear on a date night at home? Today’s fashion is all about trendy loungewear that’s uber comfy, in which it’s easier than ever to find something you can feel comfortable in while still looking effortlessly chic for your stay home date. Whether you’re making pizzas, chilling on the sofa while watching a movie, or pulling out the bubbles for a celebratory evening, below we’ve got you covered with these top tips for what to wear on a stay home date night.

Elevate Your Tracksuit

While a tracksuit used to be a casual sporting affair, today’s tracksuits are more like stylish co-ord sets that offer all the style, without sacrificing on comfort. For date night, why not opt for a classic colour like black with a white crop top underneath, or vice versa. The key is to pair oversized items with another more fitting item to give a cute but effortless look.

If you’re a crafty type of person, you could also try making a tracksuit by yourself in order to fully customise it to suit your tastes.

Use Jewellery

Jewellery can make a huge difference to a simple outfit, causing it to pop if you get it right. However, it’s important to pair your jewellery with the right outfit to avoid your outfit popping for the wrong reasons.

Some of the best jewellery pairing include:

  1. Statement Earrings

The right earrings can really frame your face and make a simple outfit like jeans and a t-shirt look more elegant. For people with heart shaped faces, dangly earrings are the best option, however people with more oval faces should opt for studs which will highlight their cheekbones.

  1. Jewellery To Complement Skin Tones

The colour of the jewellery you wear can make a big difference to your outfit. While silver jewellery suits most skin tones, gold jewellery suit those with darker hair colours and more matte skin tones. For those with cooler skin tones, white gold is an excellent option.

Co-ord Sets

A co-ord set is right on trend at the moment and the great news is that they can be super comfy. While you can get more dressy co-ord sets like a shirt and a crop top with a matching cardigan, there’s also many simple co-ord options that will look great and feel comfy for your at home date night.

Co-ords can also save you a significant amount of time as there’s no need to spend ages trying to figure out which two items go well together. One of the most popular co-ord trends at the moment is tailored trousers and a crop top, giving you an instantly cool and effortless look.

Another top co-ord trend is shorts and a matching camisole featuring a button-down design to add a feminine twist. If jogger style shorts feel a little too casual for you, try opting for a dressier pair of tailored shorts with the matching top and a long cardigan to maintain the at home vibe.

Overall, there’s no need to worry about what to wear on a stay-at-home date night. By following the advice above, it’s easier than ever to put together a simple, sleek and stylish outfit that takes minimal effort and is perfect for a date night at home. Remember to pair your outfit with the activity you’re doing, and the vibe of the environment and you’ll never go far wrong.
