Watch Phoebe Bridgers and Boygenius Perform Live in Lance Oppenheim-Directed Short Film

Last night, I watched Primetime, A24’s feverish, invigorating new thriller about about the production of the TV series To Catch a Predator. Lance Oppenheim directed it, and Phoebe Bridgers is impressive in her relatively minor role. Today, the two have teamed up for the latest instalment of the studio’s Sound Check at Cherry Lane Theater series. The live performance video finds Bridgers playing ‘On Video’, her contribution to the film’s soundtrack, as well as the Lost Weekend highlights ‘Lost Boys’ and ‘Haunted’. It reminds me of the Punisher performance videos Bridgers would put out during the pandemic, matched with Primetime‘s exceptional colour grading and dreamy atmosphere. Watch it below.
