What Is Furious About?
Furious is about two women on opposite sides of the law whose lives become increasingly intertwined.
The thriller centres on Alice, a former NYPD homicide detective. Now working in a low-profile FBI position, Alice is frustrated by how often cases involving exploited women are dismissed. When what appears to be a wealthy man’s accidental overdose is revealed to be a carefully staged murder, she knows there’s more going on.
Turns out, the victim has ties to an influential network, and his death is connected to other suspicious killings. Alice becomes convinced that a serial killer is targeting powerful men who have escaped justice for years.
Unlike most crime dramas, Furious introduces its killer, Catherine, early. The series develops an uneasy psychological connection between the two women. Their pursuit becomes a battle of ideology, with each recognising parts of herself in the other.
While Furious season 2 is not a sure thing yet, you can catch season 1 episodes weekly on Disney+. The finale arrives on August 31.
