What Is Chad Powers About?
Chad Powers follows Russ Holliday, a former college-football quarterback. His promising career imploded but he’s set on making a comeback. Desperate, he reinvents himself as the goofy Chad Powers, using an elaborate disguise. He joins the South Georgia Catfish, aiming to keep his real identity a secret.
Before long, Chad becomes an important part of the Catfish. He also befriends his teammates and develops a close relationship with assistant coach Ricky. The problem? The better Chad gets, the more eyes on him, and the more likely it is for someone to figure out Russ’s ruse.
In season 2, backup quarterback Gerry becomes increasingly obsessed with exposing Chad. By the time the finale rolls around, he blackmails Russ into losing an important game. We won’t go into spoiler territory, but this scheme puts Russ/Chad into a tricky situation. Russ and Ricky also grow closer.
While Chad Powers season 3 isn’t a sure thing, star Glen Powell is eager to return and deliver a satisfying ending. We hope he gets a chance to do just that.
