Netflix comedy Leanne has recently returned with its second season, which once again proves that you can experience growing pains regardless of age. Anchored by comedian Leanne Morgan, it’s a fun sitcom that wins bonus points for tackling a story about starting over later in life.
With 2.1 million views this week, Leanne is currently one of the most-watched shows on Netflix globally and a Top 10 show in five countries. Could another season be on the way? Here’s what we know so far.
Leanne Season 3 Release Date
At the time of writing, no official news is available about a potential Leanne season 3.
Season 2 premiered in late August, and it took some time for the new episodes to gain traction on the streaming platform. Moreover, viewership numbers are down from the show’s debut.
That said, the sitcom likely isn’t expensive to produce. If more people tune in over the next couple of weeks, a third installment isn’t out of the question. As long as Netflix gives the green light, new episodes could arrive in summer 2027.

What Could Happen in Leanne Season 3?
Leanne centres on the titular character, a Southern woman whose life blows up when her husband of over three decades, Bill, leaves her for another woman.
Single in her late 50s, she has to figure out who she is outside of her marriage. At the same time, she deals with dating, menopause, becoming a grandmother, and the everyday complications of family life. Her biggest support is her sister Carol.
In season 2, Leanne turns 60, a source of both anxiety and comedy. Her parents also move in after a kitchen mishap, so she has to care for them while experiencing some romantic complications. Notably, her relationship with Andrew takes a turn, she briefly considers whether she’s still attracted to Bill, and she goes on a date with a new man.
By the time the finale wraps up, the heroine has a newfound appreciation for her sister and for this new phase of life she’s in. While Leanne season 3 isn’t a sure thing just yet, it will probably continue to explore what it’s like for the protagonist to move forward on her own.
