The latest Apple TV series to grip viewers also happens to be the platform’s first Australian production. Last Seen revolves around a father still consumed by his young daughter’s disappearance, years after the fact.
Loosely inspired by the novel The Dispatcher by Ryan David Jahn, the show has been getting positive reviews from critics and is quickly building online buzz. Does that mean it may return with a follow-up? Here’s what we know so far.
Last Seen Season 2 Release Date
At the time of writing, there’s no news about a potential Last Seen season 2.
Since the show is based on a book, there’s a good chance it will make sense as a limited series. The first season is still rolling out, so it’s hard to tell before checking out the finale.
If Apple TV does renew it, new episodes could arrive in 2027 or 2028.

What Is Last Seen About?
Last Seen centres on Ian, a former detective whose three-year-old daughter, Maggie, vanished more than a decade earlier. Unable to accept that she’s dead, he still searches for answers. Unfortunately, his obsession has cost him his marriage and contributed to his struggle with alcoholism.
Now working as an emergency-services dispatcher, Ian’s life is thrown into turmoil once again when a violent storm exposes human remains that may be Maggie’s. When the remains are identified as belonging to another child, Ian becomes convinced that his daughter may still be alive. He gets a frantic phone call, and the plot thickens.
This is a show that’s less about twists and more about family drama and the toll Maggie’s disappearance took on her loved ones. How far will Ian’s desperation take him? You’ll have to tune in to find out.
While Last Seen season 2 isn’t a sure thing, the first season is currently in full swing. You can catch episodes weekly on Apple TV, with the finale scheduled for October 7.
