Babehoven Unveil New Single ‘Ella’s From Somewhere Else’

Babehoven have released ‘Ella’s From Somewhere Else’, a new single from the duo’s upcoming record Water’s Here in You. It follows previous cuts ‘Lightness Is Loud’, ‘Birdseye’ and ‘Chariot’. Check it out below.

“I wrote ‘Ella’s From Somewhere Else’ after seeing Ella O’Conner Williams of Squirrel Flower perform last winter,” Maya Bon explained in a statement. “When I got home from the show, I found some quiet space alone, I lit a few candles and kept the lights off. I began thinking of all the places Ella takes me in her songs. She takes me to specific memories of my childhood, she takes me into the pain, just enough so that I can keep my grounding. Ella is also the name of my childhood dog who supported me through my teens, who I think of as a best friend. I began blending the two Ella’s in the song and they morphed to have a double meaning altogether. Not only is Ella of Squirrel Flower from somewhere else, but Ella the dog is from somewhere else. They both take me to that somewhere else place together.”

Water’s Here In You arrives on April 26 through Double Double Whammy. Read our 2021 Artist Spotlight feature and our 2022 inspirations interview with Babehoven.

The 3 responsible gambling tips that most players follow when playing

Many may remember that there were only a few online casinos and sports betting websites a few years ago. Today, however, the situation is completely different because people can use a wide range of options. This allows gamblers to choose the optimal website for what they want, but it also increases the risks associated with gambling.

The good news is that most modern gambling websites pay special attention to their users’ safety by offering features that they can use. Many places even recommend users read responsible gambling tips because this helps them be aware of the potential risks associated with gambling and how to control them. A lot of gamblers underestimate those things, but they are important.

Speaking of tips, which are the most important things you should know before you start playing? Well, we are about to find out.

Have a budget

When talking about responsible gambling tips, one of the first things you have to consider is related to your budget. Most people get in trouble when wagering because of financial reasons. To be specific, they do not know how to control their finances and often find themselves in situations where they are in debt.

One of the things you can do to avoid finding yourself in a similar state is to have a budget for gambling. There is no right or wrong here because your budget amount will depend on many factors, such as your income, savings, risk tolerance, and more.

Once you set a specific budget, the important thing is to adhere to it. To do that, you can use different tools that gambling websites have in stock, such as deposit and bet limits.

Do not play games you don’t understand

Sports betting is difficult on its own, but online casinos are on another level, especially the brands that provide more games. Players only had access to slots and a few other games before, but the situation now is entirely different. Even if you are using an online casino that is not that popular, you will find at least several sections.

Slots are easy to understand and are often people’s preferred alternative. This, however, is not true for some of the other games, such as poker. The latter is a lot more complex, so only a handful of people are playing. Sadly, some gamblers are eager to give it a try and decide to use a large amount of money without understanding how it works.

We believe it is essential to understand the games you are going to play before you start doing it. Nowadays, finding information about something is easy and does not take a lot of time, so definitely “invest” time into it. Knowing the rules and what to expect from the particular title will make a night and day difference. If you’re going to bet on sports, you can check out Doc’s Sports Service for a variety of useful tips.

Take a break when things are not going well

Have you ever heard the concept of “TILT”? This is a state where some people can find themselves where they’ve lost a lot of money, but they keep playing because they are angry and want to get that amount back. As attractive as it seems, this is one of the worst things you can do because it almost always leads to losing more money.

From our experience, it is way better to take a break when things are not going well rather than keep playing and losing more and more money. In fact, this is one of the things that can cause a lot of problems in the long run and can even get you into debt.

If you are having problems with controlling your gambling behavior, use one of the many responsible gambling tools that will help you do that. For example, there is something known as “Cool Off”, which will prevent you from using a given gambling site after something happens. There are also things, such as self-exclusions and more.

Conclusion

Gambling is fun but also dangerous, so you need to be responsible when you decide to give it a try. The things mentioned here are aimed at helping people who decide to start gambling, but they are definitely not everything you need to know. Always remember that you should gamble for fun.

Benefits of CBD Edibles You Might Not Know

CBD is available in various forms, including oils, tinctures, topicals, pet products and more. One of the most popular forms is edibles, especially CBD gummies. Grandview Research says $1.6 billion CBD gummies were sold in 2020 on a global basis, and the market is projected to grow by 30.7 percent by 2028. Millions of people consume CBD edibles because they deliver a variety of benefits. or those curious about exploring more CBD options, resources like https://thankscbd.com/ offer insights into various CBD-infused products, including edibles.

What are the Benefits of CBD Edibles?

CBD gummies are not the only type of edibles available today. This category also includes hard candies, chocolates, baked goods and bars. The following list of CBD edible benefits focuses mostly on CBD gummies because they are so popular. However, most of these ones also apply to CBD hard candies, and some apply to all the other CBD edibles.

  1. Does not Produce a Psychotropic High

CBD comes from industrial hemp and by law, does not contain more than 0.3 percent THC. It is THC (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol) that produces the “high” and not CBD (Cannabidiol).

  1. Available in Different Flavors

Many edibles, like the best CBD gummies, are sold here in a variety of flavors. You can choose your favorite flavor or buy a mixed-flavor package.

  1. Convenient

One of the popular uses of CBD edibles is their convenience. You can easily carry CBD gummies or hard candies in your purse, carry bag, or briefcase, for example. This means you can always have your CBD gummies available when you want to eat one.

  1. Longer Lasting Effects

Since CBD edibles must go through the digestive system, CBD is released into the bloodstream faster than when taking tincture or oil. This extends the CBD gummy’s effects over a longer period of time.

  1. CBD is Pre-measured

Each gummy or hard candy is a serving of CBD. The same applies to other edibles you buy online or at a local store, like cookies or brownies. The amount of CBD infused in the gummy is pre-measured, so you know how much CBD you consume when you eat a gummy.

  1. Easy to Consume

Like any gummy, CBD is easy to consume. You do not have to worry about measuring or preparing the CBD for consumption.

  1. Does Not Impact the Lungs

Vaping CBD means you are inhaling the cannabinoid into the lungs, along with other ingredients. Some people do not want to use any product that involves their lungs, so CBD gummies might be an ideal alternative.

  1. Easy to Make CBD Edibles

You may not want CBD gummies, but you can easily make CBD edibles. For example, you can bake brownies with CBD oil or mix CBD in a fruit juice or smoothie.

  1. CBD Blends with Other Beneficial Compounds

The benefits of CBD can be amplified when blended with other carefully selected herbs. For example, an edible that contains CBD and the terpene caryophyllene found in rosemary may enhance the impact of CBD in a kind of entourage effect.

Summary

It is important to remember that the benefits of CBD depend on the quality of the product you purchase. It is a well-known fact that some products are mislabeled. One study of CBD side effects found that the side effects people experienced were due to other ingredients, like THC, rather than CBD. The products were mislabeled as to their actual content. Reliable vendors and stores adhere to U.S. laws. With a quality product, there are fewer chances to experience side effects from unexpected CBD edible gummies.

How to Dress Well Shares New Songs ‘Crypt Sustain’ and ‘nothingprayer’

Tom Krell has shared two more songs from his upcoming How To Dress Well album, I Am Toward You. ‘Crypt Sustain’ and ‘nothingprayer’ follow ‘New Confusion’ and ‘No Light’, which accompanied the record’s announcement in February. Take a listen below.

Krell shared the following statement about the new songs:

“Crypt Sustain” is about the cryptic origin of all artmaking, about my art and my brother’s art work (which is all over the I Am Toward You work, including a font of his beautiful handwriting). It’s about Maria Torok’s work on crypts and ghosts in the intergenerational psyche and intergenerational transmission of trauma (again Tom? lol). It’s about the hegemony of realism and the desire to disavow the graphomaniac origins of art-making. It’s about non-verbal para-speech, Headbanger’s Ball, and the origin of graffitti 40,000 years ago and in the Lascaux Caves 20,000 years ago. It references Abraham and Torok, Bataille’s The Cradle of Humanity, Puar’s The Right to Maim, and Metallica, and criticizes the historical use of the category of disability and the violent creation of the ‘upright’ subject across human history.

It positions neurodivergence in the history of profound human spiritual expression, rather than giving away the game to categories of policing and control. Ultimately, the chorus draws our attention to the simple elusiveness of the secret dream at the core of all human representation. If we could sustain ourselves in the retraction of meaning we’d have less atomic bombs, less restrictive categories, better art, more dreams.”

“nothingprayer” is a prayer in the Via Negativa, an attempt to orient myself towards God or that level of reality that lies beyond any attempted contact. Ἀπόφασις in Greek, I try to reveal that even attempting to name God through stripping away, through holding onto nothing, still leaves God infinitely far from me. I believe this teaches a great lesson about reality and about love: we must offer our prayer against possession as a model of connection. I Am Toward You is what the nothingprayer says, fully recognizing the impossibly of naming God or possessing the beloved.

I Am Toward You will be released on May 10 via Sargent House.

“We wanted to make something really special and really big. We wanted to kind of just elevate everything as much as possible,” Dryer added of the LP. “I grew up on slowcore but for this record, I just wanted to make things super-straightforward. No convoluted parts, no bullshit. I just wanted to make something that would explode.”

From Indian Lakes Unveil New Single ‘The Lines’

From Indian Lakes have released a new song, ‘The Lines’, taken from the upcoming LP Head Void. It follows the previously unveiled ‘The Flow’, and it’s accompanied by a video from director Mike Adame. Check it out below.

“I think the video taps into the hardcore/punk energy we grew up on that embodies the underlying vibes in FIL songs,” the project’s Joe Vann explained in a statement. “Whichever direction the songs go on every album, there’s always a sort of sweaty warehouse/basement/house show influence there as much as the indie or folk stuff that comes out because that’s all we knew coming up.”

Head Void is set to drop on May 15.

Les Savy Fav Share New Song ‘Limo Scene’

Les Savy Fan have released ‘Limo Scene’, the latest single from OUI, LSF, the band’s first album in 14 years. It follows previous cuts ‘Legendary Tippers’ and Guzzle Blood’. Check out its music video, directed by bassist Syd Butler, below.

Speaking about the track, Tim Harrington said: “This song is the story of being abducted by the spirit of music past while out looking for the grave of Turner ‘Rocky’ Wilson Jr. — Rocky was bassist for the doo-wop band The Rivingtons. He made up ‘Pappa-Oom-Mow-Mow’ (1962) that the Trashmen took and uses for ‘Surfin Bird’ (1963.) It’s been copped, quoted, and reinvented ever since including the end of this song. You could call it a love letter to musical legacy but fuck letter is more like it. It’s about how baby music gets made — an orgy of breeding ideas.”

Oui, LSF arrives May 10 via Frenchkiss/The Orchard.

Nat Harvie Announces New Album ‘New Virginity’, Shares Song Featuring Low’s Alan Sparhawk

Check out its accompanying video, shot and edited by Nik Nerburn, below.

“Broder really understood what I was trying to do and helped me bring the weight and drama it needed,” Harvie said in a press release. They added, “Sparhawk and Cole’s contributions sound so tough and beautiful. I felt challenged and supported by my collaborators in the best way.”

New Virginity also features contributions from Lala Lala, Merce Lemon, and Brent Penny. “There’s a magical realism to saying ‘I am a virgin again’ – it becomes true – this is the logic of the album,” Harvie commented. “What kind of person would I be if I never had to define anything about myself? How tough would it be if I had no claims to make about who or what I am?”

+/- (Plus/Minus) Announce First Album in a Decade, Share New Single

+/i (Plus/Minus) have announced their first new album in a decade, Further Afield, which is due out May 31 via Ernest Jenning Record Co. Along with the announcement, the band has shared the new single ‘Borrowed Time’. Check it out below.

“‘Borrowed Time’ an uplifting song about how resentment builds throughout the life of a relationship (the usual light +/- {Plus/Minus} subject matter), began as an exercise using a feature on the Moog Matriarch synthesizer that randomizes octaves so you don’t know where any single note will land,” the band’s Patrick Ramos explained.

“James recorded the first sound it generated and built the structure of the song around it,” he continued. “Chris, after recording his drum part, decided to double it in an attempt to mimic his first performance. With only slight variations in his play, each take is hard-panned to the left and right resulting in the effect of an expanded and dizzying stereo picture. An 808 was used in lieu of bass guitar and I added a frenetic electric guitar before James recorded vocals.”

Of the accompanying video, Ramos added: “The video, conceived at 3:00 am on the beach on Chris’ birthday, was shot with a smartphone in almost complete darkness using Astrophotography mode. Each 4-minute take results in one second of footage which were then looped and edited together. Throughout the process, we learned that the act of keeping our heads as still as possible for four silent minutes in the dark while very slowly and deliberately moving our limbs is more unnerving than meditative. Interestingly, the red light you see in the background of one take is Chris shining a flashlight through the fleshy part of his hand between the thumb and forefinger. It’s bloody good fun.”
