The Lemon Twigs Share Video for New Single ‘My Golden Years’

The Lemon Twigs have released a new single, ‘My Golden Years’, alongside an accompanying video. It marks the band’s first new music since last year’s Everything Harmony. Check out the Ambar Navarro-directed clip below.

‘My Golden Years’ is about “making every minute count and living up to your potential,” the sibling duo shared in a statement, adding, “In that sense I think that people like Mark Ruffalo or people who hike might like the song. Or it could be good while you’re working out.”

Navarro added: “The “My Golden Years” video is about looking back at the good old days, and the highs and lows of trying to make it as a band. We wanted to incorporate situations like being broke and getting kicked out while being playful and humorous about it. When you’re trying to make it as an artist there’s this vulnerability of putting yourself out to constant rejection that can be tough, but the band finds their full peace and freedom in performing in an open field.”

Shape Arts’ Open Exhibition Returns with ‘Open All Hours’

Back for its eleventh year, Shape Arts returns with its new exhibition titled Open All Hours, which will showcase 18 artists from around the globe.

As part of Shape’s curatorial theme for 2023, Open All Hours, works were selected through a public open call and curated by Shape’s Creative Producer, Elinor Hayes.

Talking about the exhibition Elinor Hayes said: “The pressures on our time feel inescapable, as though being pulled in many directions at once. We have to work to earn a living, but the living itself is fraught with housework to take care of, messages to respond to, and the looming sense that we’re failing to be productive. I think that sensation of tautness is rife and even more so for artists in an increasingly inhospitable economic climate. When you add disability into this mix, with the added expense of being disabled already well-established, you generate a particularly unyielding habitat for creativity. This exhibition brings together eclectic responses to our relationship with time, both proffering alternatives and making space to poke, prod, and critique: a blend of gallows humour and eloquent inquisition.”

Exhibiting artists include: Mike Bamgbala, Eskild Beck, Uma Breakdown, Emmy Clarke, Fatma Durmush, Yasmeen Fathima Thantrey, Charlie Fitz, Paul Fletcher, Lan Florence Yee, Yarden Fudim, Carole Lee, Oliver McConnie, Tracey Payne, Jamila Prowse, Simon Raven, Samiir Saunders, Josie Rae Turnbull, and Diana Zrnic.

The exhibition will open on Tuesday, the 9th of January, 2024 at 198 Contemporary Arts and Learning, Herne Hill.

CBDa Unleashed: 6 Mind-Blowing Benefits You Need to Know Now

Cannabidiolic acid, or CBDa, is one of the many cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. While it may not be as well-known as its cousin tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), CBDa has been gaining attention for its potential health benefits. In this blog post, we will explore the six mind-blowing benefits of CBDa that you need to know now.

Skin Health

CBDa has anti-inflammatory properties, making it a potential treatment for skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, and acne. It can also help with reducing redness and irritation in the skin. Additionally, CBDa has antioxidant effects that can protect the skin from damage caused by free radicals. For instance, you can choose Natural Dos CBDA capsules or incorporate CBDa-infused skincare products into your daily routine to reap the benefits for your skin. With its soothing and protective properties, CBDa may just be the key to achieving healthier, glowing skin.

Anti-Inflammatory Properties

Inflammation is a natural response by the body to protect and heal itself from injury or infection. However, when inflammation becomes chronic, it can lead to various health issues such as arthritis, Crohn’s disease, and even cancer. CBDa works by interacting with the endocannabinoid system in our bodies, which helps regulate inflammation. It does so by inhibiting the production of certain enzymes that contribute to inflammation and by activating other receptors that have anti-inflammatory effects. This makes CBDa a potential treatment for various inflammatory conditions, providing relief without any psychoactive effects.

Pain Relief

Studies have shown that CBDa can help reduce pain and discomfort, making it a promising alternative to traditional pain medications that often come with harmful side effects. This effect is due to CBDa’s ability to interact with receptors in the endocannabinoid system that are responsible for regulating pain sensation. Additionally, CBDa has been found to have a synergistic effect with other cannabinoids like THC, enhancing its pain-relieving properties. Whether you suffer from chronic pain or occasional discomfort, incorporating CBDa into your wellness routine could provide much-needed relief without the risk of addiction or adverse side effects.

Nausea and Vomiting

Another potential benefit of CBDa is its ability to alleviate nausea and vomiting. This can be especially helpful for individuals undergoing chemotherapy or experiencing side effects from medication. Studies have shown that CBDa can interact with serotonin receptors in the brain, which are responsible for regulating nausea and vomiting. When these receptors are activated, they help reduce the symptoms associated with these conditions. Moreover, CBDa has been found to have anti-anxiety effects, which can also contribute to its effectiveness in reducing nausea and vomiting. This makes CBDa a promising natural remedy for those who struggle with these symptoms, providing relief without the harsh side effects often associated with traditional medications.

Anxiety and Depression

Anxiety and depression are two of the most common mental health disorders affecting millions of people worldwide. While there are various treatment options available, many come with unwanted side effects or can be ineffective for some individuals. CBDa, on the other hand, has been shown to have significant potential in treating both anxiety and depression. Research suggests that CBDa can interact with serotonin receptors in the brain, which play a crucial role in regulating mood and emotions. By targeting these receptors, CBDa may be able to alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression without any psychoactive effects. Also, CBDa has been found to have anxiolytic properties, meaning it can reduce feelings of anxiety and promote relaxation. This makes it a promising natural alternative for those looking to manage their mental health without relying on traditional medications.

Neuroprotective Properties

CBDa possesses lesser-known neuroprotective properties, adding to its array of benefits. This means that it may have the ability to protect nerve cells from damage and degeneration, making it a potential treatment for neurological disorders like Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and multiple sclerosis. Research suggests that CBDa can interact with receptors in the endocannabinoid system that are responsible for regulating brain function and health. By targeting these receptors, CBDa may be able to help prevent the breakdown of nerve cells and promote their regeneration. Furthermore, CBDa has antioxidant properties that can protect the brain from oxidative stress and damage caused by free radicals. This makes it a promising natural remedy for maintaining brain health and potentially preventing or managing neurodegenerative diseases.

CBDa has numerous potential health benefits that make it a promising natural remedy for various conditions. From skin health to mental wellness and even neuroprotection, CBDa shows great potential in enhancing our overall well-being without any psychoactive effects. More research is needed to fully understand the mechanisms behind these benefits and how they can be effectively utilized. However, with the growing interest in CBDa and its therapeutic properties, we can expect to learn more about this cannabinoid and its incredible benefits shortly.
