Floating Points and Pharoah Sanders Announce New Album ‘Promises’

    Jazz saxophone legend Pharoah Sanders and Sam Shepherd a.k.a. Floating Points have teamed up with the London Symphony Orchestra for a new album titled Promises. Marking the first new music from the 80-year-old Sanders in more than a decade, the nine-part project is out March 26 via Luaka Bop. Below, check out the album’s cover artwork by contemporary visual artist Julie Mehretu, along with a trailer for the album featuring Pharoah Sanders and Floating Points.

    Though no further details about the album have been revealed, Luaka Bop has shared a short conversation between the two artists. Floating Points’ last album was 2019’s CrushHe recently remixed Caribou’s ‘Sister’ and ‘Never Come Back’.
