Listen to Eddie Vedder’s Cover of R.E.M.’s ‘Drive’

Eddie Vedder has shared a cover of R.E.M.’s ‘Drive’, the opening track from their 1992 album Automatic For the People. The Pearl Jam frontman’s rendition features on the soundtrack for Flag Day, a new crime drama directed by Sean Penn. Give it a listen below.

In addition to the R.E.M. cover, Vedder features on nine new songs from the soundtrack, most of which are collaborations with Irish rocker and Oscar-winning musician Glen Hansard. Cat Power wrote and performed three new tracks — ‘I Am a Map’, ‘I Will Follow’, and ‘Dream’ — and contributed a version of Kristján Kristjánsson’s ‘I Think of Angels’, while Eddie’s 17-year-old daughter Olivia Vedder sings on ‘There’s a Girl’ and ‘My Father’s Daughter’. You can stream the full soundtrack below.
