A new psychological thriller is making waves on Netflix. Not a Stranger is a Turkish production about a woman who hires the seemingly perfect nanny. To her surprise, things don’t go as smoothly as she expects.
With 4.6 million views this week, Not a Stranger is among the most-watched non-English shows on Netflix right now. Could that mean that a sequel is on the way? Here’s what we know so far.
Not a Stranger Season 2 Release Date
At the time of writing, there’s no official news about a potential Not a Stranger season 2.
The title isn’t listed as a limited series on Netflix, and the first season finale leaves things sort of ambiguous. That said, it will likely depend on whether viewers keep tuning in.
If the platform gives the green light, new episodes could arrive in late 2027.

What Is Not a Stranger About?
Not a Stranger revolves around Funda, a successful painter who has put her career on hold after having Mavi, her daughter. Desperate to return to her art, she finds a nanny too good to be true.
That nanny is Nazlı, who immediately connects with the baby. But when Funda’s husband, İlker, meets her, he recognises Nazlı as a woman from his past. Is this an awkward coincidence, or evidence that Nazlı has secrets of her own? Given that this is a psychological thriller, you can probably guess.
Before long, Nazlı becomes increasingly embedded in the household, and Funda begins to suffer headaches and emotional instability. She starts questioning her own sanity as Nazlı’s fascination with İlker and Mavi grows.
By the time the final end credits roll, viewers get answers about Nazlı’s history. Funda, however, is still in the dark, so it will be interesting to see where the story goes. If Not a Stranger season 2 happens, a confrontation between the two women is definitely in the cards.
