Sports Team have released ‘Condensation’, the latest single from their forthcoming album Boys These Days. The band’s Rob Knaggs and Ben Mack directed the accompanying video, which you can check out below.
Boys These Days is set for release on February 28 via Distiller Records and Bright Antenna. The follow-up to 2022’s Gulp! was led by the single ‘I’m In Love (Subaru)’.
SASAMI has announced her next album: Blood on the Silver Screen will be released on March 7, 2025 via Domino. Along with the news, she’s shared the album’s opening track, ‘Slugger’, which arrives with a video directed by Crystalline Structures Studio. Check it out below.
“I wanted to be more playful and communicate more with pop culture,” Sasami Ashworth explained in a statement. “When I listen to music, I think about how I feel, how I want to feel, how I want to move to it. And that’s what’s special about music – how it connects to culture, how it connects to different styles of music, how it connects to the timbre of the voice of the person singing it.”
The follow-up to 2022’s Squeeze was co-produced by Jenn Decilveo and Rostam. It features the previously shared single ‘Honeycrash’, as well as a guest appearance from Clairo on the song ‘In Love With a Memory’. SASAMI continued:
This album is all about learning and respecting the craft of pop songwriting, about relenting to illogical passion, obsession, and guiltless pleasure. It’s about leaning into the chaos of romance and sweeping devotion—romanticism to the point of self-destruction.
I was always a weirdo outsider and I didn’t feel like pop music spoke to me. Being a woman of color, I’ve always felt this pressure or need to make something that’s mysterious or innovative, and always shied away from lightheartedness.
My relationship to love and sex was so tied into these repressive, super restrictive definitions. This album for me is about having deep, meaningful relationships within a new definition of what is good, what is right, and what is powerful. We are still passionate beings.
I wanted to go all out with this album. I wanted to, in my tenderness and emotionality, have the bravery to undertake something as epic as making a pop record about love. I hope it makes people feel empowered and embodied, too. It’s important to not box yourself in.

The Murder Capital have released ‘Can’t Pretend to Know’, the Irish band’s first new single of 2024. The song was recorded in Los Angeles earlier this year with producer John Congelton. Check it out below.
“‘Can’t Pretend To Know’ is a whip of a tune that we made to feel like a hurricane of color and breathlessness,” frontman James McGovern shared in a statement. “A surreal look at childhood innocence and all its replacers, those delicate bridges we burn as we move through the strangeways of our youth. Molded by everything we come into contact with. Learning lessons from toys. Playing the parts that are asked of us.”
Military Genius – the project of Bryce Cloghesy, also of Crack Cloud – has released a new track from his upcoming album Scarred for Life. It’s called ‘Window to the Soul’, and it follows lead single ‘Darkest Hour’. Check out a video for it below.
“‘Window to the Soul’ reflects on trauma and its after-effects, exploring how the past can distort and reshape the present,” Cloghesy explained in a statement. “Attempting to explain what has happened takes us further away from understanding. Like looking through curved glass, each perspective reshapes and challenges our notion of objective truth. This life is a house of mirrors, and sometimes getting lost is the point. In that moment of desperation, logic is irrelevant. All that is left is feeling.”
Scarred for Life arrives November 1 via Unheard of Hope.
Adeline Hotel has released a new single, ‘Isn’t That Enough?’, which will appear on the forthcoming album Whodunnit – out this Friday, September 27 via Ruination Record Co. It follows the previously unveiled tracks ‘Grief’, ‘I Will Let Your Flowers Grow’, and the title track. Listen below.
Skirts, the project of Dallas-based singer-songwriter Alex Montenegro, has released a new track called ‘Run’. Arriving ahead of a run of fall tour dates, the song marks her first new music since 2021’s Great Big Wild Oak. Check out a video for it below.
“This is the second to last song I wrote for the new album we’ve been working on,” Montenegro explained in a statement. “I sort of swung into a place where I could only write songs on piano after COVID, and this is a result of that. Joshua Luttrull wrote the guitar part, Daniel Bryson played the drums, and Bennet Littlejohn did the bass, all of which contributed to what it is now! I feel a lot of growth in our sound and am very excited for something new to be out in the world after a few years without releasing anything.”

Perfume Genius has released the 10th-anniversary edition of his album Too Bright. Along with a crystal-clear vinyl reissue, an expanded digital version of the LP has also hit streaming services, featuring three previously unheard songs: ‘Story of Love’, ‘My Place’, and ‘When U Need Someone Here’. “These songs were written in 2013 alongside the tracks that became Too Bright,” Mike Hadreas explained in a statement. “I was reminded of them while sifting through demos from that time, reflecting on this anniversary. I’m really glad they have a place to live now. We took them to the studio last month and opened a portal with our insane band, somehow able to channel the very specific spirit of that record. It reminded me how formative and wild that time was, how much I still call on that energy and how grateful I am for the people I work with and whoever is listening.”
The National have announced a new live album, Rome, which will arrive on December 13 through 4AD. They’ve also previewed the release with a four-song EP called NTL RM EP I. Take a listen below
The band recorded Rome at the Italian capital’s Cavea at Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone on June 3, 2024. According to a press release, the 21 songs were captured entirely live, without any overdubs. The record was mixed by Peter Katis.
