What Is 100 Days of Deception About?

100 Days of Deception is set in 1930s Gyeongseong, which is present-day Seoul, during the Japanese occupation of Korea. The plot follows Lee Ga-kyung, a skilled pickpocket who dreams of moving overseas.

Before long, an unexpected opportunity draws her into the dangerous struggle for Korean independence. Ga-kyung is recruited to infiltrate the Japanese Government-General of Korea. She must pose as an interpreter trainee for 100 days while secretly gathering intelligence.

Once there, Ga-kyung encounters Kim Tae-woong, a talented interpreter who occupies a complicated position within the establishment. He proves to be a potential obstacle to Ga-kyung’s mission, but also a romantic interest. Both characters conceal important truths, and their feelings threaten to undermine their loyalties.

That’s keeping things simple, because there’s a lot going on. The rich story and great performances should be enough to draw you in. While 100 Days of Deception season 2 is unlikely, the first season is currently in full swing. You can catch episodes weekly on Netflix.
