What Is Doctor X: Mafia in White About?
Doctor X: Mafia in White centres on Gye Su-jeong, an excellent surgeon whose skills have earned her a reputation as the “mad dog of the operating room.”
She is assigned to a new hospital to fill a vacancy on the surgical team. Uninterested in hierarchy, Su-jeong refuses to compromise her principles or tolerate unreasonable demands. Instead, she begins to take on seemingly impossible cases.
Her arrival and general disposition disrupt the hospital’s established order and expose a deeply corrupt system. As Su-jeong challenges the institution’s powerful figures, she gets caught in a battle against the so-called “white mafia.” That’s a network of medical professionals keen to protect their own interests at the expense of ethical care.
Whether or not the doctor manages to make an impact, it remains to be seen. While Doctor X: Mafia in White season 2 is unlikely, the series is just getting started. You can catch episodes weekly on Netflix until mid-November.
