What Is The Final Problem About?
Inspired by Arturo Pérez-Reverte’s novel of the same name, The Final Problem is set in 1959. You follow Benjamin “Basil” Basil, a once-famous actor who built his career playing Sherlock Holmes.
While traveling to Mallorca for a potential film opportunity, Basil and his companions are caught in a violent storm. They end up stranded on a remote island, where they take shelter in an isolated hotel. Thirteen guests are trapped there with no way to leave.
Before long, a quiet English tourist is found dead in what initially appears to be suicide. Basil, however, notices details that suggest otherwise. Without any way to contact the authorities, the actor is forced to channel the famous detective he once portrayed. As more people die, it becomes clear that nobody can be trusted.
While The Final Problem season 2 is unlikely, the limited series doesn’t leave the audience hanging. You learn who the perpetrator was, so you don’t have to worry about unanswered questions. If you like mysteries, you’ll also have a good time.
