Miley Cyrus Shares New Song ‘Mary Jane 5EVR’ About Her Late Dog

Miley Cyrus has shared a new song titled ‘Mary Jane 5EVR’ in tribute to her late dog, Mary Jane. The pop singer shared the track on her Instagram page along with a video featuring clips and images of Mary Jane, herself, and her other pets. Produced by Mike Will Made-It, Andrew Wyatt, and Emile Haynie, the song was written a few years ago in Malibu in her house that was destroyed by the Woolsey wildfire. Listen to ‘Mary Jane 5EVR’ below.

“I wrote this song in Malibu years ago on a piano in a house that no longer exists. About my dog Mary Jane who is also gone now,” Cyrus wrote on Instagram. “A lot has changed over time. Mostly me. Music is my medicine. This song revolves around loss & heartache. Which I am currently experiencing after Mary Jane’s passing. She wore her grace, dignity & kindness like a crown. She will never be forgotten and will forever be missed. To know her is to love her. It has been my honor being her mom and best friend.”

‘Mary Jane 5EVR’ follows on from the release of Cyrus’ seventh studio album Plastic Hearts in late November last year. In 2015, she released a collaborative album with the Flaming Lips called Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz, which included a song about her pet fish.
