Optimising your chances for loot in Diablo IV

Diablo IV’s loot system is a complex beast, with a variety of factors influencing the quality and quantity of your drops. You’re investing time and looking to win big every time you clear a dungeon or a world event. You’re able to take part with people across the globe, like at EU casino sites at euwiki.org, where markets are available to bet on these popular esports markets.

Once you finish that campaign, your objectives broaden, but your focus should always be to get stronger, work on your character build and work towards dominance over all of Sanctuary!

My focus has been exactly, this. Starting a new character and going straight into end-game build mode. It’s a grind, but there are ways to make it as efficient as possible.

Here’s a guide to help you maximize your chances of getting those high-tier items:

Difficulty matters

Higher tiers = better loot. Once you get through the story, you’re able to start getting serious. The Torment difficulty levels are no joke in Diablo IV. But the higher the risk, the higher the reward. Get into Torment I as soon as you can and work up to Torment IV to really see the loot!

Prioritize Endgame Activities

  • Nightmare Dungeons: These are your bread and butter for high-tier loot. The higher the tier, the better the rewards. Experiment with different affixes to find dungeons that suit your build and offer the best loot.

The beauty of dungeons is that you can run them quickly if you have a good group. So you can knock a few out in a small amount of time. It’s a little grindy, but think of it as running “Strikes” in Destiny. You’re in it for the drops, and you’ll keep running until you get what you need.

  • Helltides: These timed events offer high-density mob spawns and increased Legendary drop rates. Make sure to farm these whenever they’re active.
  • World Bosses: While not as frequent, World Bosses have a chance to drop powerful loot. Team up with other players to take them down. Watching a world boss in Diablo IV is super-satisfying, especially when they drop that massive chest and it opens up.

Item Level and Drop Rates

  • Item level influences drops: Your equipped item level affects the level of loot that drops. Keep your gear updated!

It always means dropping something nice that really works for you. But get it gone, sell it or scrap it. It’ll hold you back long term and there’s always always something better just around the corner. Diablo IV can be a cruel mistress, indeed.

  • Inventory doesn’t matter: Contrary to some beliefs, the items in your inventory do NOT affect drop rates. It’s not something I ever considered previously, but I’ve seen discourse around this on different Diablo IV forums recently.

Efficiency is Key

  • Clear speed matters: The faster you clear content, the more loot you’ll get over time. Optimise your build for speed and efficiency.
  • Don’t neglect events: While exploring, participate in events that pop up. They often offer bonus loot and experience. Diablo IV does a great job at getting you working with others, show up to a world event, and there’s often someone else there, too.
  • Join a party: Don’t stress about playing with strangers, just find a group in-game and join them. Work together and you get XP boosts for being within proximity of others. It’s free! Then you get faster clears with a group, too. It just makes sense.

No need to chat, just agree on the objective and go for it.

Important Notes

  • RNG (random number generation) is still a factor: Even with the best strategies, luck still plays a role in Diablo IV’s loot system. Don’t get discouraged if you don’t find what you’re looking for immediately.
  • The game is constantly evolving: Blizzard may adjust drop rates and loot mechanics in future updates. Stay informed about any changes that might affect your farming strategy.
