Over the course of 12 seasons, American Horror Story tackled everything from haunted houses to psychiatric asylums, covens, travelling freak shows, haunted hotels, aliens, and even the apocalypse.
Now, season 13 is here, and it functions as a massive “greatest hits” crossover. Beloved characters are back, and the number 13 is woven directly into the story, giving horror fans plenty to get hyped about.
That said, will the show continue with season 14 and beyond? Here’s what we know so far.
American Horror Story Season 14 Release Date
At the time of writing, the show hasn’t been officially renewed for more episodes. Still, creator Ryan Murphy is optimistic, and he’s been working on what’s to come for quite a while.
“Season 13 is not the end; I’m working on season 14 as we speak in terms of, What’s the idea? and Who wants to be in it?” he told The Hollywood Reporter.
If all goes well, American Horror Story season 14 could arrive in 2027 or 2028.

What Is American Horror Story About?
American Horror Story is an anthology series. Each season tells a different story, usually with a new setting and characters. That said, many of the same actors return in different roles. Similarly, while you can watch seasons independently, the show gradually established a shared universe.
That becomes obvious in season 13. Ben DeSoto, a man terrified of the number 13, takes a job caring for the mysterious Mr. Nas, who lives on the 13th floor of New York’s Apollyon building. Before long, familiar characters from previous installments converge, and it becomes obvious that the number is central to a larger supernatural plot.
Since the series is an anthology, we don’t know what topics American Horror Story season 14 would tackle, at least not yet. For now, you can catch season 13 episodes weekly, with the finale scheduled for late October. In the UK, the show is available on Disney+.
