Big Tief guitarist Buck Meek has released a new single called ‘Paradise’. It’s set to appear on his upcoming LP Haunted Mountain along with the previously shared title track. Check it out below.
“Sometimes when you half-hear something spoken, something unspoken inside the words is revealed,” Meek said of ‘Paradise’ in a statement. “Your mind fills in the blank, finishes the sentence, infers deep meaning – though you still can’t fully explain it. Jolie Holland sent me some of the lyrics for this song, about feeling in awe of the vastness within a loved one, and I wrote it thinking about how love often feels too big to comprehend, like death, or life after death, or space.”
Jon Batiste has announced his new album, World Music Radio. The follow-up to 2021’s We Are, which won the 2022 Grammy Award for Album of the Year, will be released August 18 via Verve/Interscope. Recorded with producer Jon Bellion, it features contributions from Lana Del Rey, Lil Wayne, Kenny G, J.I.D, NewJeans, Fireboy DML, Camilo, and Rita Payés. Listen to the first single, ‘Calling Your Name’, below.
“World Music Radio is a concept album that takes place in the interstellar regions of the universe,” Batiste explained in a statement. “The listener is led through the album by an interstellar traveling griot named Billy Bob Bo Bob, who takes you sonically all around the world at the speed of light. I created this album with a feeling of liberation in my life and a renewed sense of exploration of my personhood, my craft and of the world around me unlike anything I ever felt before.”

Crooks and Nannies have shared a new single, ‘Weather’, lifted from their upcoming album Real Life. It follows the previously released cut ‘Temper. Check it out below.
Speaking about the track, vocalist/drummer Sam Huntington said in a statement:
It was spring of 2020, and despite being the first warm night of the season, the city was eerily empty,. After weeks of being cooped up I wanted to see something new and decided to make a rule for myself: If I came across an unfamiliar street I was required to turn down it. Drunk and restless, I biked for hours, until my phone died and I realized I was lost. I was in a non-residential area that I didn’t recognize and it was very late. In Philly many of the major streets are numbered, but I was having difficulty finding one. I seemed to be trapped in a labyrinth of exit ramps, warehouses and negative space. By the time I made it home, I had sweated through my shirt, popped a tire, had a bizarre encounter with a flock of geese, stumbled upon a massive house fire, and written a song. The bike ride felt like some kind of strange upsetting dream and I think deeply informed the tone of Weather. The song is about feeling hollow.”
The vocals throughout this track are from the original demo. My roommate came home while I was recording them and, feeling self-conscious about the lyrics, I sang the ending section as a whisper. I figured it would be a placeholder but we decided to lean in, emphasizing the fragility in the vocal performance and doing everything in our power to make the instrumental go really fucking hard. There are like 8 layers of guitar feedback. We hit a trash can with a mallet and layered it over the snare. That’s our engineer, Mark Water, screaming. The abrupt ending symbolizes death, perhaps a life cut short.
Real Lifeis set to come out August 25 via Grand Jury.
Chicago-based band Slow Pulp have announce their new album and ANTI- debut, Yard. The follow-up to 2020’s Moveys is slated for release on September 29, and it includes the previously released song ‘Cramps’. New single ‘Slugs’ arrives today along with a music video created by Jakob Lazovick and Rich Smith. Check it out below, and scroll down for the album cover (by Henry Stoehr), tracklist, and Slow Pulp’s upcoming tour dates.
“‘Slugs,’ put simply, is about falling in love in the summertime,” vocalist/guitarist Emily Massey explained in a statement. “The song lives in that place where the newness and freshness of getting to know someone turns into a tinge of fear because you realize how much you have come to care about them. I tend to get so overtaken in feelings of uncertainty or impermanence when it comes to relationships. Probably due to having rocky foundations or complications in them in the past. But suddenly, for the first time, I found myself in something that felt safe, with healthy attachment and mutual admiration, and the inevitability of uncertainty became more easily accepted. I think it’s so sweet that the song found this full circle moment in the timelessness of different types of firsts in love.”
While finishing Moveys in isolation, Massey temporarily moved back home and recorded vocals with her dad, Michael, in his small studio. The band recorded vocals Michael again on Yard, which was their only option at the time. “Working together, we can be very honest with each other in a way that I wouldn’t be able to do with a stranger or a producer that’s not my family,” Massey said. “He already has so much context for what the songs are about, knowing my life so intimately. He is able to be very direct, saying things I often don’t want to hear but need to hear. I think it often leads to getting the best takes out of me.”
Yard first started coming together in February 2022 when Massey was staying alone at a friend’s family cabin in northern Wisconsin. “Part of what we discovered is that taking that time to be intentionally isolated is really important, as is being more collaborative at other times,” bassist Alex Leeds commented. “We’ve learned a lot about balancing and being intentional about that through this process.”

Sweeping Promises have shared a video for ‘Good Living Is Coming for You’, the title track from their upcoming album, which is out this Friday (June 30). It follows previous entries ‘Eraser’ and ‘You Shatter’. Check out the Jessica Bardsley-directed clip below.
“For this video, we collaborated with one of our closest friends, experimental filmmaker Jessica Bardsley (Life Without Dreams, Goodbye Thelma),” the band’s Lira Mondal and Caufield Schnug explained in a statement. “Drawing from the glamorous and bloodthirsty aesthetic of ‘70s and ‘80s horror films (Daughters of Darkness, The Hunger, The Lair of the White Worm, Dream Demon), the visual companion to ‘Good Living Is Coming for You’ channels the song’s unshakable feeling of discontent and encroaching domestic doom through the confines of a DIY horror flick as seen by some nameless sleepless soul on late-night cable, the line between movie and infomercial blurred to infernal effect.”
The Breeders have announced a 30th anniversary reissue of their 1993 LP, Last Splash. Last Splash (The 30th Anniversary Original Analog Edition) is set for release on September 22 via 4AD. The album was remastered from its original analog tapes, and it includes two unearthed archival songs, one of which – a co-write between Kim Deal and Black Francis from 1993 called ‘Go Man Go’ – is out now. Check out its accompanying video, directed by Brandon Weaver of Ironwing Studios, below.
The special edition of Last Splash spans two 12” 45rpm vinyl discs, plus an exclusive, one-sided etched 12” disc featuring the forgotten tracks. Along with ‘Go Man Go’, it contains ‘Divine Mascis’, a version of ‘Divine Hammer’ with lead vocals from Dinosaur Jr.’s J Mascis. The original sleeve art by the late designer Vaughan Oliver has also been reimagined by his long-time design partner Chris Bigg.

Raleigh, N.C. band Truth Club have signed to Double Double Whammy, marking the announcement with the new single ‘Blue Eternal’. Check it out below.
“When I was 18, I was discovering this new world of young people who write music in their bedrooms like Frankie Cosmos, Told Slant, Free Cake, that were all totally blowing my mind,” the band’s Yvonne Chazal said of the signing in a statement. “I kept seeing the name Double Double Whammy everywhere, and that was the first time I ever really understood what a record label was. It feels like such a full-circle moment to sign with them, and we are feeling so grateful that the record found such a great home.”
Truth Club released their debut LP, Not an Exit, in 2019.
The Datejust by Rolex symbolises classic elegance and superior craftsmanship, anchoring as the flagship watch by the Swiss brand. Today, we’re thrilled to spotlight the Rolex Datejust 41 126333, a two-tone piece with exquisite dials to suit each individual’s needs since its introduction in 2016. This timepiece truly embodies the spirit of luxury and makes for a great first-time Rolex piece.
Design
The Rolex Datejust 41 is a timepiece that exudes sophistication. It comes with a myriad of dials, including one of my favourites, the champagne dial that is both sleek and enchanting — ideal for celebrations. The case itself combines oystersteel and yellow gold, ensuring durability and a luxurious feel on the wrist. A Datejust typically comes with a Jubilee or Oyster bracelet, adding a touch of timeless grace to the overall design.
Continuing, the fluted bezel is a distinctive feature of this piece and aids in creating depth. Originally, the fluting had a functional purpose: it served to screw the bezel onto the case, helping to ensure the watch’s waterproofness. Over time, the fluted bezel became an aesthetic element and remained one of the favourite parts of the watch.
Size-wise, the watch measures 41mm, a size that fits comfortably on most wrists. Those who prefer a smaller size may opt for a 36mm.
Movement
The heart of this timepiece is the Caliber 3235, a perpetual, mechanical, self-winding movement that boasts an impressive power reserve of approximately 70 hours. This movement is reliable and a testament to Rolex’s commitment in improving accuracy. It also comes with the newer Deepsea Rolex watches.
Conclusion
In a nutshell, the Rolex Datejust 41 126333 is a watch that delivers on all things luxury. It’s a watch that is as ready for action as you are, with a mighty and sophisticated design, fitting formalwear and relaxed day-outs when you’re looking for something more flashy. With the Datejust in its arsenal, Rolex still stands at the top of the hill regarding branding and name recognition.
Michael Kors announced the release of its Pre-Fall 2023 campaign for MICHAEL Michael Kors and Michael Kors Mens. The campaign was captured by photographer Blair Getz Mezibov and stars Nora Attal, Ella Rattigan and Baptiste Radufe. The campaign was shot at Mark’s Off Madison, a local hotspot in Manhattan, to convey the on-the-go energy of a great day.
Styles range from smart sets in unexpected hues to modern silhouettes in black and white. Fashion-forward sport-chic accessories and metallic details keep things on trend, while effortless layers ease the transition to fall. As for accessories, the Mila crossbody in all-new shades becomes the focal point for everyday elegance.
“The concept for the video first came from wanting to look like city finance bros,” the band’s Sophie Moss explained in a press release. “The kind of people that tear through six Elfbar vapes in a day and passive aggressively tell our assistants over the phone to make sure the cappuccino was hot by the time it got to our desks next time. We got up at 3am and went to the iconic spot right by the entrance of the Blackwall tunnel to get a view of the skyline. As the shoot went on, we thought maybe we looked like budget spies or the Blues Brothers. By 6am a guy in a small vest who looked like he’d been out all night asked if we were in an orchestra.”
Cantouris added: “We decided to take a more earnest approach with this video, due to the song’s subject matter. Poppy found an amazing location, and riffing off the idea that the band might actually be going to work in the city, Iris came up with the great idea to wear business attire. The costume element is of course tongue in cheek, which got us thinking we could have some fun with the intro to balance out the rest of the video’s feel. We filmed at 4am, and the monochrome qualities of the light combined with the black and white suits, and Canary Wharf as the backdrop, really gelled well together to get the look of sincerity we were aiming to achieve.”
