CHAI have shared a new single from their upcoming album WINK. It’s called ‘Nobody Knows We Are Fun’ and it arrives with a music video directed by Hideto Hotta. Check it out below.
Bassist/lyricist YUUKI got the idea for the new song while watching the 2019 coming-of-age comedy Booksmart. “I thought, ‘We, CHAI, can really relate to that scene,” YUUKI said of the song, describing it as “a mix of screaming our annoyances—why don’t you guys notice us!—while trying to be cute and sexy.”
The rest of the band added:

WINK, the follow-up 2019’s PUNK, arrives on May 21 via Sub Pop. It includes the previously released singles, ‘Maybe Chocolate Chips’ featuring Ric Wilson, ‘Donuts Mind If I Do’, and ‘ACTION’.
