Arlo Parks Shares New Song ‘Hope’, Covers Clairo’s ‘Bags’

Ahead of the release of her new album Collapsed in Sunbeams tomorrow (January 29), Arlo Parks has shared one final single from it called ‘Hope’. During her performance for SiriusXMU last night, she also played a few songs from the album and covered Clairo’s ‘Bags’. Check out both the new single and Park’s rendition of the Immunity track below.

“The song surrounds isolation, being present in your pain and knowing that you’re not the only one on the planet feeling low,” Parks said of ‘Hope’ in a statement. “I think especially in times like these it’s important to focus on the inevitability that things will get better.” Speaking of the Molly Burdett-directed music video, she added: “This video to me is a warm, vibrant exploration of friendship and introversion. I think there’s something so powerful about the saturated, filmic textures, the human portraits and depictions of euphoria.”

Earlier this month, Arlo Parks performed a rendition of The xx’s ‘VCR’ as part of her lo-fi cover series. Previously, the singer-songwriter shared the singles ‘Caroline’, ‘Green Eyes’ (featuring Clairo), ‘Eugene’, ‘Black Dog’, and ‘Hurt’.
